For Indian pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, it presents a major opportunity to expand access to high-quality, life-saving medicines, making them more affordable for a large segment of the patient population across the EU.

Look at India. All the things that Prime Minister Modi is trying to do with Make in India and other policies, he’s consistent and been successful in putting it in place.

A unique quality in personality in our honourable Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi ji, is that whenever he meets you, he talks through his eyes more than words. I felt great when he greeted me with a smile by my name at the home reception at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Republic Day.

The European Union represents the most expansive and high-potential market covered under India’s recent FTA engagements, opening new avenues for deeper economic collaboration.

This landmark agreement (India-EU Free Trade Deal) represents a strategic breakthrough in India’s global trade engagement and significantly deepens the partnership between two major democracies and economies that together account for nearly 25% of global GDP.

The EU-India Free Trade Agreement is historic. It is the largest trade deal ever concluded by either side. This will further intensify our economic and political ties with India. In these times, it is important for both the EU and Finland to strengthen partnerships all over the globe.

Then, as you can imagine, for me, it has a special meaning. I am very proud of my roots in Goa, where my father’s family came from. The connection between Europe and India is something personal to me.

We did it. We have delivered the mother of all deals. We are creating a market of 2 billion people. This is a tale of two giants – the world's second- and fourth-largest economies. Two giants who choose partnership, in a true win-win fashion. A strong message that cooperation is the best answer to global challenges.
