34 കിലോമീറ്റര്‍ ദൈര്‍ഘ്യമുള്ളതും 1571.95 കോടി രൂപ ചെലവില്‍ നിര്‍മിച്ചതുമായ രണ്ടു പ്രധാന ദേശീയപാതകള്‍ 2018 നവംബര്‍ 12നു തിങ്കളാഴ്ച വാരണാസിയില്‍ നടക്കുന്ന ചടങ്ങില്‍ പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി ശ്രീ. നരേന്ദ്ര മോദി രാഷ്ട്രത്തിനു സമര്‍പ്പിക്കും. യു.പി. ഗവര്‍ണര്‍ രാം നായിക്, കേന്ദ്ര റോഡ് ഗതാഗത, ദേശീയ പാത, ഷിപ്പിങ്, ജലവിഭവ, നദീവികസന, ഗംഗാ പുനരുജ്ജീവന മന്ത്രി ശ്രീ. നിതിന്‍ ഗഡ്കരി, യു.പി. മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി ശ്രീ. യോഗി ആദിത്യനാഥ് എന്നിവര്‍ പങ്കെടുക്കും. ഉത്തര്‍പ്രദേശില്‍ വാരണാസിയിലെ ഹര്‍ദ്വ റിങ് റോഡില്‍ നാളെ ഉച്ചകഴിഞ്ഞാണു ചടങ്ങു നടക്കുക.
16.55 കിലോമീറ്റര്‍ വരുന്ന വാരണാസി റിങ് റോഡ് ഒന്നാം ഘട്ടം 759.36 കോടി രൂപ ചെലവിട്ടാണു നിര്‍മിച്ചത്. അതേസമയം, ദേശീയ പാത 56ല്‍ 17.25 കിലോമീറ്റര്‍ ദൈര്‍ഘ്യമുള്ള ബബത്പൂര്‍-വാരണാസി റോഡിന്റെ നിര്‍മാണവും നാലുവരിയാക്കലും 812.59 കോടി രൂപ ചെലവു വരുന്ന പദ്ധതിയാണ്.
ബബത്പൂര്‍ എയര്‍പോട്ട് ദേശീയ പാത, വാരണാസിയെ വിമാനത്താവളവുമായി ബന്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്നതും ജോണ്‍പൂര്‍, സുല്‍ത്താന്‍പൂര്‍, ലഖ്‌നൗ എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിലേക്കു നീളുന്നതുമായ പാതയാണ്. ഹര്‍ഹ്വയില്‍ ഫ്‌ളൈ ഓവറും തര്‍നയില്‍ റോഡ് മേല്‍പ്പാലവും ഉള്ള പാത വാരണാസിയില്‍നിന്നു വിമാനത്താവളത്തിലേക്കുള്ള യാത്രാസമയം ഗണ്യമായി കുറയാന്‍ ഇടയാക്കും. ഇതു വാരണാസിക്കാര്‍ക്കും വിനോദസഞ്ചാരികള്‍ക്കും ഗുണകരമാകും.
രണ്ടു മേല്‍പ്പാലങ്ങളും ഒരു ഫ്‌ളൈ ഓവറുമുള്ള റിങ് റോഡ് എന്‍.എച്ച്. 56 (ലഖ്‌നൗ-വാരണാസി), എന്‍.എച്ച്. 233 (അസംഗഢ്-വാരണാസി), എന്‍.എച്ച്. 29 (ഗോരഖ്പൂര്‍-വാരണാസി) എന്നിവയ്ക്കു വാരണാസി നഗരം തൊടാതെയുള്ള ബൈപ്പാസ് യാഥാര്‍ഥ്യമാക്കും. ഇതു നഗരത്തിലെ ഗതാഗതത്തിരക്കു കുറയ്ക്കും. യാത്രൗസമയവും ഇന്ധനച്ചെലവും വായുമലിനീകരണവും കുറയുമെന്ന നേട്ടവുമുണ്ട്. ബുദ്ധമത തീര്‍ഥാടകരുടെ പ്രധാന കേന്ദ്രങ്ങളിലൊന്നായ സാരാനാഥിലെക്കുള്ള യാത്ര റിങ് റോഡ് യാഥാര്‍ഥ്യമാകുന്നതോടെ കൂടുതല്‍ സൗകര്യപ്രദമാകും.
ഈ പദ്ധതികള്‍ റോഡ് കടന്നുപോകുന്ന പ്രദേശത്തു തൊഴിലവസരങ്ങള്‍ സൃഷ്ടിക്കപ്പെടുന്നതിനും ചെറുകിട, ഇടത്തരം വ്യവസായങ്ങള്‍ സ്ഥാപിക്കപ്പെടുന്നതിനും സാമ്പത്തിക വികസനം യാഥാര്‍ഥ്യമാക്കപ്പെടുന്നതിനും സഹായമാകും. വാരണാസിയെ കിഴക്കന്‍ ഉത്തര്‍പ്രദേശിലെ മറ്റു പ്രദേശങ്ങളുമായി ബന്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്നതും 63,885 കോടി രൂപ ചെലവു പ്രതീക്ഷിക്കുന്നതുമായ 2,833 കിലോമീറ്റര്‍ റോഡ് വികസനം നടന്നുവരികയാണ്.
വാരണാസിയില്‍ ഗംഗാനദിയില്‍ ഉള്‍നാടന്‍ ജലഗതാഗത ടെര്‍മിനലിന്റെ സമര്‍പ്പണവും പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി നിര്‍വഹിക്കും. ലോകബാങ്ക് സഹായത്തോടെ ഇന്ത്യന്‍ ഉള്‍നാടന്‍ ജലഗതാഗത അതോറിറ്റി നടപ്പാക്കുന്ന ജലമാര്‍ഗ വികസന പദ്ധതിയുടെ ഭാഗമായി ദേശീയ ജലപാത-1(ഗംഗാ നദി)ല്‍ നിര്‍മിക്കുന്ന ബഹുതല ടെര്‍മിനലുകളില്‍ ആദ്യത്തേതാണിത്. മറ്റു മൂന്നു ടെര്‍മിനലുകള്‍ സാഹിബ്ഗഞ്ച്, ഹാല്‍ദിയ, ഗാസിപ്പൂര്‍ എന്നിവിടങ്ങളില്‍ നിര്‍മിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുകയാണ്. പദ്ധതി യാഥാര്‍ഥ്യമാകുന്നതോടെ ഗംഗാ നദിയില്‍ 1500-2000 ഡി.ഡബ്ല്യു.ടി. ശേഷിയുള്ള യാനങ്ങളിലൂടെ വാണിജ്യാടിസ്ഥാനത്തിലുള്ള ഗതാഗതം സാധ്യമാകും.
സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യാനന്തരം ഉള്‍നാടന്‍ ജലഗതാഗത പാത വഴി അയക്കപ്പെടുന്ന ആദ്യ കണ്ടെയ്‌നര്‍ ചരക്കു പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി സ്വീകരിക്കും. ഒക്ടോബര്‍ അവസാനവാരം കൊല്‍ക്കത്തയില്‍നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ട, പെപ്‌സികോ ഭക്ഷ്യ-പാനീയ കമ്പനിയുടെ ചരക്കാണിത്.

Babatpur Airport highway will link Varanasi to the airport and go on to Jaunpur, Sultanpur and Lucknow. With a flyover at Harhua and an ROB at Tarna, the road will reduce the travel time from Varanasi to the airport.

The Ring Road, with two ROBs and a flyover, will provide a way for traffic on NH 56 (Lucknow-Varanasi), NH 233 ( Azamgarh-Varanasi), NH 29 ( Gorakhpur-Varanasi ) and Ayodhya – Varanasi highways to by pass Varanasi city, thereby reducing traffic congestion in the city.
