പ്രിയപ്പെട്ട സഹോദരി സഹോദരന്മാരെ,
കാവേരി നദീജലം പങ്കിടലുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട തര്ക്കത്തിന്റെ ഫലമായി കര്ണാടകത്തിലും തമിഴ്നാട്ടിലും ഉരുത്തിരിയുന്ന സ്ഥിതിഗതികള് തികച്ചും ദുഖകരമാണ്.
ഈ സംഭവവികാസങ്ങളില് ഞാന് വ്യക്തിപരമായി വേദനിക്കുന്നു. അക്രമത്തിന് ഒരിക്കലും ഒരു പ്രശ്നത്തിനും എന്തെങ്കിലും പരിഹാരം നല്കാനാവില്ല. ഒരു ജനാധിപത്യത്തില് സംയമനത്തിലൂടെയും പരസ്പര ചര്ച്ചയിലൂടെയും മാത്രമാണ് പരിഹാരങ്ങള് കണ്ടെത്തുന്നത്.
നിയമപരമായ പരിധിക്കുള്ളില് നിന്നുകൊണ്ട് മാത്രമേ തര്ക്കം പരിഹരിക്കാനാവൂ. നിയമം ലംഘിക്കുന്നത് ഒരിക്കലും സാധ്യമായ ബദല് മാര്ഗ്ഗമല്ല. കഴിഞ്ഞ രണ്ട് ദിവസങ്ങളിലായി നടന്ന അക്രമവും കൊള്ളിവയ്പ്പും പാവപ്പെട്ടവര്ക്കും നമ്മുടെ രാജ്യത്തിന്റെ സമ്പത്തിനും നഷ്ടം മാത്രമേ വരുത്തിവയ്ക്കുന്നുള്ളു.
രാജ്യം പ്രതികൂല സാഹചര്യങ്ങള് നേരിട്ടപ്പോഴൊക്കെ, രാജ്യത്തെമ്പാടുമുള്ള ജനങ്ങളെപ്പോലെ കര്ണാടകത്തിലെയും തമിഴ്നാട്ടിലെയും ജനത സംവേദനക്ഷമതയോടെയാണ് അത്തരം സന്ദര്ഭങ്ങള് കൈകാര്യം ചെയ്തത്. സംവേദനക്ഷമത പുലര്ത്താനും, പൗരന്മാര് എന്നനിലയില് തങ്ങളുടെ ചുമതലകള് ഓര്മ്മിക്കുവാനും രണ്ടു സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങളിലെയും ജനങ്ങളോട് ഞാന് അഭ്യര്ത്ഥിക്കുന്നു.
അക്രമവും, നശീകരണവും, കൊള്ളിവയ്പ്പും വെടിഞ്ഞ് രാജ്യതാല്പര്യവും രാഷ്ട്ര നിര്മ്മാണവും മറ്റ് എല്ലാത്തിനും ഉപരിയായി കണ്ട്കൊണ്ട് പ്രശ്നപരിഹാരത്തിനായി സംയമനത്തിനും, ഐക്യത്തിനും നിങ്ങള് മുന്ഗണന നല്കുമെന്ന് ഞാന് വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു.
