രാജ്യസഭാ ഉപാദ്ധ്യക്ഷ തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പില് വിജയിച്ച എന്.ഡി.എ. സ്ഥാനാര്ത്ഥി ജനതാദള് (യു)വിലെ ശ്രീ. ഹരിവംശ് നാരായണ് സിംഗിനെ പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി ശ്രീ. നരേന്ദ്ര മോദി അഭിനന്ദിച്ചു.
തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പ് കഴിഞ്ഞ ഉടന് രാജ്യസഭയില് സംസാരിക്കവെ, സഭാ നേതാവായ ശ്രീ. അരുണ് ജയ്റ്റ്ലി രോഗവിമുക്തനായി തിരിച്ചെത്തിയതിലുള്ള സന്തോഷവും പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി പ്രകടിപ്പിച്ചു.
ക്വിറ്റ് ഇന്ത്യാ പ്രസ്ഥാനത്തിന്റെ വാര്ഷികം ഇന്നാണെന്ന് പറഞ്ഞ പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി, 1857 ലെ സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യ സമരം മുതല് സ്വതാന്ത്ര്യ പ്രക്ഷോഭവുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട ഒരു സ്ഥലമായ ബലിയയില് നിന്നാണ് ശ്രീ. ഹരിവംശ്ജി വന്നിട്ടുള്ളതെന്ന് ചൂണ്ടിക്കാട്ടി. ലോക്നായക് ജയപ്രകാശ് നാരായണില് നിന്ന് ശ്രീ. ഹരിവംശ്ജി പ്രചോദനം ഉള്ക്കൊണ്ടിട്ടുണ്ടെന്നും അദ്ദേഹം പറഞ്ഞു. മുന് പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി ചന്ദ്രശേഖറുമൊത്തും ശ്രീ. ഹരിവംശ്ജി പ്രവര്ത്തിട്ടുണ്ടെന്നും പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി അനുസ്മരിച്ചു.
ചന്ദ്രശേഖര്ജിയുമൊത്ത് അടുത്ത് പ്രവര്ത്തിച്ച ആളെന്ന നിലയ്ക്ക് അദ്ദേഹം രാജി വയ്ക്കുമെന്നത് ഹരിവംശ്ജിക്ക് മുന്കൂട്ടി അറിയാമായിരുന്നു. എന്നിരുന്നാലും സ്വന്തം പത്രത്തിന് പോലും അദ്ദേഹം ഈ വാര്ത്ത നല്കിയില്ലെന്ന് പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി പറഞ്ഞു. പൊതു സേവനത്തോടും, ധാര്മ്മികതയോടുമുള്ള അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ പ്രതിബദ്ധതയാണ് ഇത് സൂചിപ്പിക്കുന്നതെന്ന് അദ്ദേഹം പറഞ്ഞു.
വളരെയധികം വായിച്ചിട്ടുള്ള ഹരിവംശ്ജി ഒട്ടേറെ രചനകളും നിര്വ്വഹിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടെന്ന് പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി പറഞ്ഞു. വര്ഷങ്ങളായി അദ്ദേഹം സമൂഹത്തെ സേവിച്ച് വരികയാണെന്നും അദ്ദേഹം ചൂണ്ടിക്കാട്ടി.
രാജ്യസഭാ ഉപാദ്ധ്യക്ഷ സ്ഥാനത്തേയ്ക്ക് മത്സരിച്ച ശ്രീ. ബി.കെ. ഹരിപ്രസാദിനെയും പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി അഭിനന്ദിച്ചു. തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പ് സുഗമമായി നടത്തിയതിന് പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി സഭാഭ്യക്ഷനെയും, എല്ലാ അംഗങ്ങളെയും നന്ദി അറിയിച്ചു.
