ദേശീയ പത്രപ്രവര്ത്തക ദിനത്തില് പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി ശ്രീ. നരേന്ദ്ര മോദി മാധ്യമ പ്രവര്ത്തകരെ ആശംസിച്ചു.
‘എല്ലാ മാധ്യമ പ്രവര്ത്തകര്ക്കും ദേശീയ പത്രപ്രവര്ത്തക ദിനത്തില് എന്റെ ആശംസകള്. ദേശീയവും അന്തര് ദേശീയവുമായ വിവിധ വാര്ത്തകളും, സംവാദങ്ങളും മുന്നിലേയ്ക്ക് കൊണ്ട് വരുന്നതിന് അശ്രാന്തം പരിശ്രമിക്കുന്ന നമ്മുടെ മാധ്യമങ്ങളെ, വിശേഷിച്ച് അവയിലെ റിപ്പോര്ട്ടര്മാരെയും ക്യാമറ പേഴ്സണ്മാരെയും ഞാന് അഭിനന്ദിക്കുന്നു.
ശബ്ദമില്ലാത്തവര്ക്ക് ശബ്ദം നല്കുന്നതില് മാധ്യമങ്ങളുടെ പങ്ക് സ്തുത്യര്ഹമാണ്. കഴിഞ്ഞ മൂന്ന് വര്ഷകാലം മാധ്യമങ്ങള് ശുചിത്വ ഭാരത ദൗത്യത്തിന് വമ്പിച്ച കരുത്ത് പകരുകയും, ശുചിത്വത്തിന്റെ സന്ദേശം ഫലപ്രദമായി വ്യാപകമാക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.
ഇന്നത്തെ കാലത്ത് സോഷ്യല് മീഡിയയുടെ മുന്നേറ്റവും മൊബൈല് ഫോണുകള് വഴി വാര്ത്തകള് ലഭ്യമാക്കുന്നതും നാം കണ്ട് വരുന്നു. ഇത്തരം മുന്നേറ്റങ്ങള് മാധ്യമങ്ങളുടെ എത്തിച്ചേരലിനെ വ്യാപകമാക്കുകയും അവയില് കൂടുതല് ജനാധിപത്യവും, പങ്കാളിത്ത സ്വഭാവവും സൃഷ്ടിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുമെന്ന് എനിക്ക് ഉറപ്പുണ്ട്.
ഊര്ജ്ജസ്വലമായ ഒരു ജനാധിപത്യത്തിന്റെ ആധാര ശിലയാണ് സ്വതന്ത്രമായ പത്ര പ്രവര്ത്തനം. പത്ര സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യവും എല്ലാ തരത്തിലുമുള്ള ആവിഷ്ക്കാരവും ഉയര്ത്തിപ്പിടിക്കുന്നതില് ഞങ്ങള് പൂര്ണ്ണമായും പ്രതിജ്ഞാബദ്ധരാണ്. 125 കോടി ഇന്ത്യാക്കാരുടെ വൈദഗ്ദ്ധ്യവും, കഴിവും, സര്ഗ്ഗാത്മകതയും പ്രദര്ശിപ്പിക്കുന്നതിന് നമ്മുടെ മാധ്യമ ഇടങ്ങള് കൂടുതലായി വിനിയോഗിക്കപ്പെടട്ടെ,’ പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി പറഞ്ഞു.
