பகவான் ஸ்ரீ கிருஷ்ணரின் தெய்வீக தரிசனத்தின் மூலம் கிடைக்கும் திருப்தி, ஸ்ரீமத் பகவத் கீதையின் மந்திரங்களின் ஆன்மீக அனுபவம், மரியாதைக்குரிய பல துறவிகள் மற்றும் குருக்களின் மத்தியில் இருப்பது ஆகியவை தனக்கு கிடைத்துள்ள பெரும் பாக்கியம் என்று பிரதமர் திரு நரேந்திர மோடி தெரிவித்தார். கர்நாடகா மாநிலம் உடுப்பியில் உள்ள ஸ்ரீ கிருஷ்ண மடத்தில் இன்று (28.11.2025) நடைபெற்ற லட்ச கந்த கீதை பாராயண நிகழ்ச்சியில் கலந்து கொண்டு அவர் உரையாற்றியபோது இதை தெரிவித்தார்.இவை அனைத்தும் எண்ணற்ற ஆசிகளைப் பெறுவதற்கு ஒப்பானது என்று அவர் குறிப்பிட்டார்.

 

மூன்று நாட்களுக்கு முன்பு, கீதையின் பூமியான குருக்ஷேத்திரத்தில் தாம் இருந்ததை நினைவு கூர்ந்த திரு மோடி, இன்று பகவான் ஸ்ரீ கிருஷ்ணரால் ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்பட்ட, ஜகத்குரு ஸ்ரீ மத்வாச்சாரியாவின் மகிமையால் நிரப்பப்பட்ட இந்த பூமிக்கு வருவது தனக்கு மிகுந்த மனநிறைவு தரும் ஒரு தருணமாகும் என்றார். இந்த தருணத்தில், ஒரு லட்சம் பேர் ஒன்றாக பகவத் கீதையின் மந்திரங்களை ஓதும்போது, உலகெங்கிலும் உள்ள மக்கள் இந்தியாவின் ஆயிரக்கணக்கான ஆண்டுகால ஆன்மீக பாரம்பரியத்தின் வாழும் தெய்வீகத்தைக் காண முடிந்துள்ளதாக அவர் குறிப்பிட்டார்.

 

கர்நாடகா மாநிலத்திற்கு பயணம் மேற்கொள்வதும், அம்மாநிலத்தில் உள்ள பாசமுள்ள மக்களிடையே இருப்பதும் எப்போதும் தனக்கு ஒரு தனித்துவ அனுபவத்தை அளிப்பதாக பிரதமர் குறிப்பிட்டார்.  குஜராத் மாநிலத்திற்கும், உடுப்பிக்கும் இடையே உள்ள ஆழமான உறவு பற்றி அவர் எடுத்துரைத்தார். இங்கு நிறுவப்பட்டுள்ள பகவான் ஸ்ரீ கிருஷ்ணரின் சிலையை துவாரகையில் மாதா ருக்மிணி வழிபட்டதாகவும், பின்னர் ஜகத்குரு ஸ்ரீ மத்வாச்சாரியார் இந்த சிலையை உடுப்பியில் பிரதிஷ்டை செய்ததாகவும், திரு மோடி குறிப்பிட்டார். கடந்த ஆண்டு கடலுக்கு அடியில் ஸ்ரீ துவாரகாவை தரிசித்த தெய்வீக அனுபவம் தனக்குக் கிடைத்ததாக கூறிய அவர், இந்த தரிசனம் தனக்கு மகத்தான ஆன்மீக மகிழ்ச்சியைத் தந்ததாகவும் அவர் குறிப்பிட்டார்.

 

Underscoring that Jagadguru Shri Madhvacharya is the pioneer of India’s Dvaita philosophy and a shining light of Vedanta, the Prime Minister highlighted that the system of Udupi’s Ashta Mathas created by him is a living example of institution building and the creation of new traditions. He noted that here there is devotion to Lord Shri Krishna, knowledge of Vedanta, and the resolve of serving food to thousands of people. He stated that in a way this place is a sacred confluence of knowledge, devotion, and service.

Shri Modi recalled that during the period when Jagadguru Madhvacharya was born, India was facing many internal and external challenges, and at that time he showed a path of devotion that could connect every section of society and every belief. He remarked that due to this guidance, even after centuries the Mathas established by him continue to serve millions of people every day. He highlighted that inspired by him, many great figures emerged in the Dvaita tradition who always advanced the work of dharma, service, and nation building. He stated that this eternal tradition of public service is the greatest heritage of Udupi.

Noting that the tradition of Jagadguru Madhvacharya gave energy to the Haridasa tradition, the Prime Minister highlighted that great saints like Purandar Das and Kanak Das brought devotion in simple, melodious, and accessible Kannada language to the masses. He noted that their compositions reached every heart, even the poorest sections of society, and connected them with dharma and Sanatan values, and these compositions remain equally relevant for today’s generation. He observed that even now, when the youth listen to Purandar Das’s composition “Chandrachooda Shiva Shankara Parvati” on social media reels, they are transported to a different spiritual emotion. The Prime Minister remarked that even today, when a devotee like him in Udupi has darshan of Lord Shri Krishna through a small window, it becomes an opportunity to connect with the devotion of Kanak Das. He stated that he feels very fortunate to have had the privilege of bowing to Kanak Das both today and earlier.

 

Highlighting that the teachings of Lord Shri Krishna are practical in every age, and the words of the Gita guide not only individuals but also the policies of the nation, Shri Modi recalled that in the Bhagavad Gita, Shri Krishna spoke of how we should work for the welfare of all. He remarked that throughout his life, Jagadguru Madhvacharya carried these sentiments and strengthened the unity of India.

Underscoring that behind the policies of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sarvajan Hitaya, Sarvajan Sukhaya lies the inspiration of Lord Shri Krishna’s shlokas, Shri Modi highlighted that Lord Shri Krishna gives the mantra of helping the poor, and this very inspiration forms the basis of schemes like Ayushman Bharat and PM Awas. He stated that Lord Shri Krishna imparts the knowledge of women’s safety and empowerment, and it is this wisdom that inspired the nation to take the historic decision of the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam. He further remarked that Lord Shri Krishna teaches the principle of welfare for all, and this principle underpins India’s policies such as Vaccine Maitri, the Solar Alliance, and Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam.

Prime Minister Shri Modi remarked that Lord Shri Krishna delivered the message of the Gita on the battlefield and highlighted that the Bhagavad Gita teaches us that to establish peace and truth, the end of oppressors is also necessary. He stated that this is the core sentiment of the nation’s security policy. He noted that India speaks of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam and also reiterates the mantra ‘Dharmo Rakshati Rakshitah’. He remarked that from the Red Fort, the message of Shri Krishna’s compassion is conveyed, and from the same ramparts the announcement of Mission Sudarshan Chakra is also made. Shri Modi explained that Mission Sudarshan Chakra means building a protective wall around the country’s key locations, its industrial and public sectors, which the enemy cannot breach, and if the enemy dares to show audacity, then India’s Sudarshan Chakra will destroy them.

 

Emphasising that in the action of Operation Sindoor, the nation has witnessed this resolve, the Prime Minister highlighted that in the terrorist attack at Pahalgam, many countrymen lost their lives, including people from Karnataka. He stated that earlier, when such terrorist attacks occurred, governments would sit idle, but this is a new India that neither bows before anyone nor wavers from its duty to protect its citizens. “India knows how to establish peace and also how to safeguard peace”, said the Prime Minister.

Shri Modi remarked that the Bhagavad Gita makes us aware of our duties and life commitments, and inspired by this, he urged everyone to adopt certain resolutions. He stated that these appeals are like nine resolutions which are very essential for our present and future. He added that once the community of saints blesses these appeals, nothing will stop them from reaching every citizen.

Prime Minister remarked that our first resolution should be to conserve water, save water, and protect rivers. He highlighted that our second resolution should be to plant trees, noting that the nationwide campaign of “Ek Ped Maa ke Naam” is gaining momentum, and if the strength of all the Mathas joins this campaign, its impact will be even wider. He stated that the third resolution should be to make an effort to improve the life of at least one poor person in the country. Shri Modi emphasized that the fourth resolution should be the idea of Swadeshi, and as responsible citizens we must all adopt Swadeshi. He remarked that today India is moving forward with the mantra of Atmanirbhar Bharat and Swadeshi, with our economy, our industries, and our technology standing firmly on their own feet. He underlined that therefore we must say with full force—’Vocal for Local’.

 

Speaking about the fifth resolution, Shri Modi urged that we must promote natural farming. He highlighted that the sixth resolution should be to adopt a healthy lifestyle, to include millets in our diet and reduce the intake of oil. He stated that the seventh resolution should be to embrace yoga and make it a part of life. The Prime Minister emphasized that the eighth resolution is to support the preservation of manuscripts, noting that much of India’s ancient knowledge is hidden in these manuscripts. He mentioned that the Government of India is working on the Gyan Bharatam Mission to preserve this knowledge, and people’s cooperation will help save this invaluable heritage.

Urging that the ninth resolution should be to visit at least 25 places in the country connected with our heritage, Shri Modi suggested that just three to four days ago the Mahabharata Experience Centre was inaugurated in Kurukshetra, Haryana. He appealed to people to visit this centre to witness the life philosophy of Lord Shri Krishna. Shri Modi also highlighted that in Gujarat, every year the Madhavpur Mela dedicated to the marriage of Lord Shri Krishna and Mata Rukmini is organized, which attracts people from across the country, especially from the North East, and urged everyone to make an effort to attend it next year.

Prime Minister Modi remarked that the entire life of Lord Shri Krishna and every chapter of the Gita conveys the message of action, duty, and welfare. He highlighted that for Indians, the period of 2047 is not only Amrit Kaal but also a duty-bound era for building a developed India. Shri Modi stated that every citizen, every Indian, has a responsibility, and every individual and institution has its own duty. He emphasized that in the fulfillment of these duties, the hardworking people of Karnataka have a very significant role. He remarked that every effort must be dedicated to the nation, and by following this spirit of duty, the dream of a developed Karnataka and a developed India will be realized. Shri Modi concluded by expressing the wish that the energy emanating from the land of Udupi continues to guide the resolve of a developed India. He extended his heartfelt greetings to every participant associated with this sacred occasion.

Governor of Karnataka, Shri Thaawarchand Gehlot, Union Minister, Shri Pralhad Joshi were present among other dignitaries at the event.

 

Background

Prime Minister visited Sri Krishna Matha in Udupi and participate the Laksha Kantha Gita Parayana programme—a devotional gathering of 100,000 participants, including students, monks, scholars, and citizens from various walks of life, who will recite the Srimad Bhagavad Gita in unison.

Prime Minister also inaugurated the Suvarna Teertha Mantapa, located in front of the Krishna sanctum, and dedicate the Kanaka Kavacha (golden cover) for the sacred Kanakana Kindi, a sacred window through which the saint Kanakadasa is believed to have had the divine darshan of Bhagwan Krishna. Sri Krishna Matha, Udupi, was established over 800 years ago by Sri Madhvacharya, the founder of the Dvaita philosophy of Vedanta.

Joint Statement: Visit of President of the UAE, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to India

At the invitation of the Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, President of the United Arab Emirates, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, paid an official visit to India on 19 January 2026. This was the fifth visit of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to India in the last ten years and his third official visit to India as the President of the UAE.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan reviewed the full scope of bilateral cooperation between the two countries. They agreed that the India-UAE Comprehensive Strategic Partnership has continued to strengthen over the past decade.

The two leaders welcomed the visits of the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to India in the last two years, noting that these visits marked generational continuity of the bilateral relationship.

The two leaders endorsed the outcomes of the 13th High-Level Task Force on Investments held in September 2025, and the 16th India-UAE Joint Commission Meeting and 5th Strategic Dialogue held in December 2025.

The two leaders welcomed the robust growth in trade and economic cooperation since the signing of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) in 2022 and noted the rapid growth of bilateral trade, which reached US$ 100 billion in FY 2024-25. Buoyed by the enthusiasm of the business communities on both sides, they decided to double bilateral trade to target US$ 200 billion by 2032.

They directed their teams to work towards connecting Micro, Small and Medium Sector Enterprises (MSMEs) on both sides. In this context, they called for the expeditious implementation of key initiatives, such as the ‘Bharat Mart’, the ‘Virtual Trade Corridor’ and the ‘Bharat-Africa Setu’ to promote MSME products across the Middle East, West Asia, Africa and the Eurasia region.

The leaders expressed satisfaction that the Bilateral Investment Treaty signed in 2024 has further strengthened investment flows across multiple sectors in both countries. They welcomed discussions on a potential UAE partnership for the development of the Special Investment Region in Dholera, Gujarat. The envisioned partnership would include the development of key strategic infrastructure, including an international airport, a pilot training school, a maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facility, a greenfield port, a smart urban township, railway connectivity, and energy infrastructure. Highlighting the success of the first NIIF Infrastructure Fund, the Prime Minister of India invited UAE sovereign wealth funds to consider participation in the second Infrastructure Fund, scheduled for launch in 2026. The two leaders welcomed the establishment of DP World and First Abu Dhabi Bank branches in GIFT City, reinforcing its emergence as a leading international financial center. FAB’s GIFT City branch will act as a key bridge, connecting Indian corporates and investors to its expertise and global network across the GCC and MENA markets.

Both sides reaffirmed their strong commitment to enhancing UAE–India cooperation in food security, recognising its strategic importance in ensuring sustainable supply chains and long-term resilience. They underscored the role of public-private partnerships, innovation and knowledge exchange in advancing sustainable agriculture and enhancing national food resilience in line with the national priorities of both countries.

The two leaders agreed to deepen cooperation in space sector. In this context, they welcomed the understanding reached to collaborate on a joint initiative aimed at driving commercialisation of the sector through the advancement of space sciences and technologies. This initiative aims to produce an integrated space ecosystem with end-to-end infrastructure and a strong industrial base. It aims to enable India–UAE joint missions, expand global commercial services, create high-skilled employment and start-ups and strengthen bilateral investment through sustainable business models.

The two leaders decided to strengthen collaboration in science and technology and innovation, especially in the areas of artificial intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies. Welcoming the decision to collaborate on the establishment of a supercomputing cluster in India, they also agreed to explore cooperation in setting up data centres in India. The two leaders directed their teams to explore the possibility of establishing ‘Digital Embassies’ between the UAE and India, under mutually recognised sovereignty arrangements. President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan expressed support for the AI Impact Summit to be hosted in India in February 2026.

The two leaders expressed satisfaction with the strength of the bilateral energy partnership and underscored the UAE’s contribution to India’s energy security. They welcomed signing a 10-year LNG Supply Agreement between Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) and ADNOC Gas for the delivery of 0.5 million tonnes per year of liquefied natural gas, beginning in 2028. The leaders also welcomed the enactment of the Sustainable Harnessing and Advancement of Nuclear Energy for Transforming India (SHANTI) law, noting that it creates new opportunities for enhanced civil nuclear cooperation. The two sides agreed to explore partnership in advanced nuclear technologies, including development and deployment of large nuclear reactors and Small Modular Reactors (SMRs), as well as cooperation in advanced reactor systems, nuclear power plant operations and maintenance and nuclear safety.

The two leaders appreciated the deepening financial sector cooperation between the two countries. They directed their teams to work towards interlinking the national payment platforms to enable efficient, fast and cost-effective cross-border payments.

Recognising the shared cultural and historical heritage between the two countries, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi welcomed the UAE’s decision to provide artefacts for the National Maritime Heritage Complex at Lothal. The two leaders decided to establish a ‘House of India’ in Abu Dhabi as a lasting symbol of the India-UAE friendship. They also agreed to continue nurturing vibrant people-to-people ties through youth exchanges aimed at further deepening cultural understanding.

The leaders identified education as a cornerstone of India-UAE partnership. Building on the opening of the offshore campuses of Indian Institute of Technology Delhi and the Indian Institute of Management–Ahmedabad in the UAE, they encouraged greater efforts to promote linkages between universities and educational institutions in both countries and expand student exchanges, which will serve as a knowledge bridge between the two countries. It will include cooperation in expanding Innovation and Tinkering Labs in schools and colleges. The leaders welcomed the understanding reached to work towards integrating India’s Digilocker with the UAE platforms for seamless authentication of Indian academic degrees/ documents, which will promote greater economic and educational opportunities and ease of living.

The leaders highlighted deep respect for each other’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and the importance of strategic autonomy. They acknowledged steady and strong bilateral defence and security cooperation as a core pillar of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. They welcomed the momentum generated by the recent exchange of visits by the respective Service Chiefs and Commanders of the Army, Navy and Air Force of both countries, and the successful conduct of bilateral military exercises. They welcomed the signing of Letter of Intent towards the conclusion of a Strategic Defence Partnership.

The two leaders reiterated their unequivocal condemnation of terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, including cross-border terrorism, and emphasised that no country should provide safe haven to those who finance, plan, support or commit terrorist acts. They agreed to continue cooperation within the framework of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) to counter terror financing and strengthen anti-money laundering efforts.

The two leaders recalled the launch of the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC) on the margins of the G20 summit in Delhi in September 2023.

The two leaders exchanged views on regional and global issues of mutual interest. They underlined their shared interest in regional peace, security and stability. They noted excellent cooperation and mutual support at multilateral and plurilateral fora. The UAE side conveyed its full support for the success of India's BRICS Chairmanship in 2026. The Indian side conveyed its support for the 2026 UN Water Conference, to be co-hosted by the UAE at the end of 2026, which will focus on accelerating the implementation of SDG 6, ensuring the availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all.

Both sides highlighted their collaboration in polar science and noted the positive outcomes of joint expeditions and institutional cooperation. Both sides agreed to further advance this partnership through targeted scientific initiatives, coordinated research planning and strengthened collaboration between national polar research institutions. They emphasised that continued cooperation in the polar regions would support evidence-based climate action and contributes to global scientific efforts.

President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan thanked Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for the warm welcome and gracious hospitality.
