On the afternoon of Friday 23rd August 2013 Shri Narendra Modi condoled the demise of Gujarat Director General of Police (DGP) Shri Amitabh Pathak. Shri Modi said that the state will remember the services of Shri Pathak and added that he has spoken to his son to offer condolences.

Shri Modi Tweeted, In Shri Amitabh Pathak, Guj has lost a dedicated officer. The state will always remember his services. Spoke to his son & offered condolences.

The Chief Minister said that this was a sad moment for the state and its police force. He said that Shri Pathak led the police force of the state with great team spirit. He also appreciated the working style of Shri Pathak. 

Shri Amitabh Pathak was an IPS officer of the 1977 batch. He served the state in various capacities including Director Anti-Corruption Bureau, Ahmedabad Police Commissioner, IGP (Law and Order) and Range IG, Gandhinagar.

Prime Minister welcomes President of Finland Alexander Stubb to India

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, today welcomed the President of the Republic of Finland, Mr. Alexander Stubb, who is on a State Visit to India.

Shri Modi expressed confidence that the visit would further strengthen the bilateral relations between India and Finland.

President Stubb had earlier posted on social media platform X that he is travelling on a State Visit to India and will meet the President of India and the Prime Minister, as well as other members of the state leadership. He noted that the visit will further strengthen relations between Finland and India, including in the area of trade.

Responding to X post of President of Finland, Shri Modi said;

“Welcome to India, President Alexander Stubb. I fully agree with you, your visit will take India-Finland relations to new heights. I eagerly look forward to our meeting tomorrow and to your keynote address at the Raisina Dialogue 2026.
