पंतप्रधान नरेंद्र मोदी आणि इस्रायलचे पंतप्रधान नेतन्याहू यांनी आज गुजरातमधील सारकांथा जिल्हयातल्या वडराड येथील सर्वोत्कृष्ट भाजीपाला केंद्राला भेट दिली.
या केंद्राने आतापर्यंत केलेल्या लक्षणीय कामगिरीची माहिती यावेळी देण्यात आली. दोन्ही पंतप्रधानांनी यावेळी व्हिडिओ लिंकच्या माध्यमातून कच्छ जिल्हयातल्या कुकामा येथील खजूर उत्कृष्टता केंद्राचे उद्घाटन केले.
“कृषी क्षेत्राात किती आमुलाग्र, क्रांतिकारी बदल घडवून आणणे शक्य असते, हे इस्रायलने संपूर्ण जगाला दाखवून दिले आहे, असे पंतप्रधान नरेंद्र मोदी याप्रसंगी म्हणाले.
कृषी क्षेत्रात तंत्रज्ञानाचा वापर करणे महत्वाचे आहे, असेही ते म्हणाले 2022 पर्यंत भारतीय शेतकऱ्यांचे उत्पन्न दुप्पट करण्याच्या दृष्टीने सरकार कशा पध्दतीने कार्यरत आहे, याची त्यांनी यावेळी थोडक्यात माहिती दिली. शेतकऱ्यांचे आणि कृषी क्षेत्राचे उत्पन्न वाढविण्यासाठी जलसिंचनाकडे लक्ष देऊन शेती करण्याच्या पध्दतीमध्ये नवकल्पना आणण्याची आवश्यकता आहे, असेही पंतप्रधान मोदी यावेळी म्हणाले.
