Prime Minister Narendra Modi today addressed a public meeting in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. Speaking at the event, Shri Modi said that his govt is continuously fighting corruption and black money, “Since coming to power in 2014, we have undertaken measures to curb corruption & take action against the corrupt,” he said.

Attacking the SP govt in UP PM Modi said the, UP government is not concerned about the development of the state and the industries are closing down in the state. He added, “Locks of Aligarh are famous. But due to lack of concern of the UP government, the industries in the state are shut & locked.” He also added,”Our focus is on VIKAS - Vidyut (electricity), Kanoon (law), Sadak (proper connectivity).”

Prime Minister Modi said that his govt is launching schemes to provide employment opportunities for them. “We want our youth to prosper & shine. We brought the Mudra Yojana, provided them loans & promoted entrepreneurship.”

Shri Modi further said that there was no fear of law among criminals in Uttar Pradesh. “Criminals in Uttar Pradesh do not fear law. I urge the people of state to remove those from power who shelter criminals,” he remarked.

The PM also spoke about welfare measures for sugarcane farmers and said that they will be paid within 14 days. “We have undertaken welfare measures for sugarcane farmers. But why is it so that UP government has not been able to look after them,” he said. “We want our farmers to prosper. We will undertake every possible measure that benefits them,” he further added.

Launching attack on opposition PM Modi said, “Every other party politicizes ideals of Babasaheb Ambedkar. But we want everyone to know Dr. Ambedkar's contributions.”

Shri Modi said that people of Uttar Pradesh need to fight against ‘SCAM’- Samajwadi Party, Congress, Akhilesh Yadav and Mayawati. He added, “Uttar Pradesh does not need SCAM. It needs a BJP Government that is devoted to development, welfare of poor & elderly.”

Shri Modi urged the people to change the government for the development of Uttar Pradesh.

Several BJP leaders and karyakartas were also present at the event.

State Visit of Prime Minister to Seychelles

As part of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s State Visit to Seychelles from 27-29 June 2026, Prime Minister and the President of Seychelles, H.E. Dr. Patrick Herminie today held official talks at the State House in Victoria, Mahe.

The talks covered the full spectrum of bilateral relations, with the leaders agreeing to further strengthen cooperation in health, education, capacity building, digital transformation, sustainable development, social infrastructure, renewable energy, maritime security and defence. They also exchanged views on regional and global developments, including challenges in the Indian Ocean region, such as illegal fishing, drug trafficking and piracy. Both leaders expressed satisfaction at the progress made in the implementation of projects and initiatives under the Special Economic Package announced by India. Prime Minister reaffirmed India’s commitment to supporting the development priorities of Seychelles and to further deepen the close and enduring partnership between the two countries.

Following the official talks, both leaders released a joint commemorative logo marking 50 years of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. Several MoUs/agreements in the fields of Capacity Building, UPI, Health, Agriculture, Shipping, Space, Extradition and Line of Credit were exchanged thereafter. In addition, several announcements in the fields of food security, infrastructure, health, vocational training, maritime security and defence were made in support of the development needs of Seychelles. The details of these announcements may be seen here [link]. Seychelles also announced that it is joining the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure [CDRI].

Later in the day, Prime Minister addressed an Extraordinary Sitting of the National Assembly of Seychelles, becoming the first Indian Prime Minister to do so. In his address, he highlighted the historical bonds of friendship between India and Seychelles and underscored the shared values of democracy, rule of law and people-centric governance that guide the two countries. He noted that mutual trust and close cooperation have shaped a robust partnership spanning development cooperation, maritime security, technology, innovation, health and capacity building. The Leader of Opposition of Seychelles, H.E. Mr. Bernard Georges, also called on Prime Minister. The two leaders discussed India-Seychelles bilateral ties and conveyed their strong support to further build the special friendship between the two countries.
