"64th Van Mahotsav – 2013"
"Chief Minister to dedicate ‘Nagesh Van’ to the state at Dwarka’s Nageshwar"

The celebration of state level 64th Van Mahotsav and inauguration of ‘Nagesh Van’ will be held at Dwarka on Friday, August 2, 2013 in the presence of Chief Minister Narendra Modi. On this auspicious occasion the dignitaries to attend the programme include Ganpatsinh Vasava (Minister of Forest) Babubhai Bokhiriya, (Minister of Agriculture) Vasubahen Trivedi (Minister of Education) and Govindbhai Patel (Minister of Civil Supply).

During the Van Mahotsav programme scheduled on August 2 at Dwarka, various events will be held from 1:30 pm onwards. The event will have cheque distribution ceremony, conferring of the Van Pandit awards, a book release, inauguration and dedication of Meera Garden, planting of saplings and mainly the inauguration of Nagesh Van at Dwarka.

It is worth mentioning here that the state level Van Mahotsav is organized every year at various places by the State Forest Department to promote more green cover for the state. So far various forests covers were dedicated to the state which includes Puneet Van of Gandhinagar, Mangalya Van of Ambaji, Tirthankar Van of Taranga, Shyamal Van of Shamlaji, Bhakti Van of Chotila, Harihar Van of Somnath, Pavak Van of Palitana, Virasat Van of Pavagadh and Govindguru Smrutivan of Mangadh in Panchmahals. State Forest Department has appealed to the citizens to grow more trees and accomplish the saying “Nurture Tree, Thriving Nation.”

Prime Minister expresses grief over mishap in Coimbatore

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, has expressed deep anguish over the mishap in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.

Shri Modi said that he is distressed to hear about the incident and extended his heartfelt condolences to those who have lost their loved ones. He also prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured in the mishap.

The Prime Minister’s Office posted on X;
