Shri Modi offers prayers to Lord Jagannath on eve of annual Rath Yatra

On the evening of Tuesday 9th July 2013 Shri Narendra Modi offered prayers at the Jagannath Temple in Ahmedabad. He did so on the eve of the annual Rath Yatra that commences on the morning of 10th July 2013.

Speaking to the media after the prayers, Shri Modi said that he sought the blessings of Lord Jagannath and said, “May he shower his blessings on the poor, the farmers, the youth and may he give his blessings for a good rainfall.”

He stated that Lord Jagannath is a Lord of the poor and shared that Ahmedabad being a city of poor mill workers has always sought the blessings of Lord Jagannath. Shri Modi said that there would be Rath Yatras across 130 places in Gujarat and that the people of Gujarat await Lord Jagannath’s chariot to travel across the state so that they can seek his divine blessings.

The Chief Minister extended his greetings to the Kutchi community across the world on the occasion of Ashadhi Bij, the Kutch New Year.

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has said that PM MITRA mega textiles park will boost the local economy of aspirational district of Virudhunagar.

The Prime Minister was replying to a tweet by the Union Minister, Shri Piyush Goyal announcing the launch of the mega textile park.

The Prime Minister tweeted :
