I have known Didi since ages. She is not the same person who raised her voice against the Left. She speaks someone else's language now & is being controlled, says PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today addressed a public meeting in Kolkata. Addressing a massive rally at Brigade Parade Ground, PM Modi said "I have had the privilege of addressing hundreds of rallies in political life, but in such a long tenure I have never been blessed with such a large mass group, I have got to witness such a scene today.”

"This land of Bengal has given energy to our values. This land of Bengal burnt new life in the freedom movement of India. This Brigade Parade Ground has been witness to many great leaders and also witnessed those who have disrupted West Bengal's progress. People of Bengal never left their hopes for change,” he added.

In an all out attack on the TMC, PM Modi asserted, "Bengal relied on Mamata didi for change. But Didi and her cadre broke this trust. These people broke the trust of Bengal. These people humiliated Bengal. Here the sisters and daughters were tortured.”

Hitting out at TMC, Left and Congress, the Prime Minister said, “this time in the Assembly elections, on one side there is TMC, Left-Congress, they have anti-Bengal attitude, and on the other hand the people of Bengal have stood up tightly.”

Addressing the huge gathering, he said, “The next 25 years are very important for the development of Bengal. In 2047, when India will celebrate 100 years of independence, Bengal will lead the country once again. The development here in the next 5 years will lay the foundation for State's development in the next 25 years.”

Talking about the BJP’s agenda, the PM remarked, “The dream of 'sonar bangla' will be fulfilled. Today, I have come here today to assure you of Bengal's development, to increase investment here, to protect Bengal's culture and to bring change. I have come to convince you of this Ashol Poriborton. To convince you of the development of Bengal, of changing the situation in Bengal. I have come here to make you believe that we will work hard for farmers, businessmen and the development of sisters and daughters. We will live every moment to fulfill your dreams.”

“Ashol Poriborton means Bengal, where trade and business flourished, where maximum investment came. Ashol Poriborton means Bengal, which has the modern infrastructure of the 21st century,” he further added.

Launching a tirade against the TMC government, PM Modi stated, “Due to their commission culture, many important projects of Kolkata airport are stuck. BJP will stop this and complete those projects. Kolkata is the city of joy. Kolkata also has a legacy of a rich past and also has future prospects. There is no reason why Kolkata cannot be a city of future while preserving its culture. We have worked very hard to develop Kolkata.”

“You know it very well how the democratic system has been destroyed here. BJP will strengthen this system. We will bring the change to re-establish public belief in government systems, in the police, and the administration,” he said at the Brigade rally.

Continuing the attack at Mamata Government, the Prime Minister asserted that they made promises to work for 'Maa, Maati, Manush'. But you tell me, has TMC been able to bring change in the lives of common people here in the last 10 years? Those talking about Mati handed over every particle of Bengal to middlemen, black marketers and syndicates.

Reminding the people of Bengal about the brutality of the current government, the PM said, “You are well aware of the condition of 'Maa, Maati, Manush'. Mothers are being attacked on streets and in their houses. Recently, the cruelty unleashed on an 80-year-old mother has shown their cruel face to the entire country.”

Questioning Mamata Banerjee over nepotism, PM Modi said, “The people of Bengal had chosen you as Didi but then why did you remain the aunt of a nephew. Why you only concentrated on helping your nephew? The people of Bengal are asking only this one question from you.”

Taking a dig at Didi’s recent scooty ride, he said, “Didi, you are the daughter of India, not only of Bengal. When you took over Scooty a few days ago, everyone was praying that you be safe. It is good that you did not fall, otherwise the state in which the scooty was manufactured would have become her enemy.”

“The BJP believes not only on announcements, but also on rapid implementation of announcements. We try to do what is said within the time limit. Nowadays even our opponents say that I work for friends. Who we grow up with are our best friends. I grew up in poverty hence I understand the plight of poor people living in every corner of India. I work for my friends & will continue to do so,” he said.

“I am also working for my friends from Bengal. I have given nearly 90 lakh gas connections in Bengal to my friends. I have given free electricity connection to my over 7 lakh friends of Bengal living in darkness. I have built more than 60 lakh toilets-Ijjatghar in Bengal for my friends. I have approved more than 32 lakh pucca houses in Bengal for my friends,” added PM Modi while highlighting the schemes of the centre.

He added, “Corona disturbed all over the world, but it was these poor friends of mine who were very upset. When corona came, I gave ration to every friend for free, gave free gas cylinders and deposited crores of rupees in bank account.”

Urging people of Bengal to vote for the BJP, the PM Modi stated, “TMC ka khela khatam, Vikas shuru...vote for BJP fearlessly, vote against bad governance. These people are experienced people and play a lot. They have done innumerable corruption and looted the people of Bengal. They have even looted the relief money sent for Amphan. Vote against ill-governance and for freeing people of fear. Bengal wants development.”

He accused Mamata Government for tolabaazi, syndicate and commission cut. He said, “You have done so many scams that a 'Corruption Olympics' game can be organized. You have played with the hard-earned money of the people and their lives. You have pushed Bengal towards separation instead of development, and thus the lotus is blooming. You have divided people on religious lines, and thus the lotus is blooming in West Bengal.”

West Bengal needs a BJP government that works at double speed to restore the state’s pride: PM in Nadia
Whenever BJP raises concerns over infiltration, TMC leaders respond with abuse, which also explains their opposition to SIR in West Bengal: PM Modi
West Bengal must now free itself from what he described as Maha Jungle Raj: PM Modi’s call for “Bachte Chai, BJP Tai”

PM Modi addressed a public rally in Nadia, West Bengal through video conferencing after being unable to attend the programme physically due to adverse weather conditions. He sought forgiveness from the people, stating that dense fog made it impossible for the helicopter to land safely. Earlier today, the PM also laid the foundation stone and inaugurated development works in Ranaghat, a major way forward towards West Bengal’s growth story.

The PM expressed deep grief over a mishap involving BJP karyakartas travelling to attend the rally. He conveyed heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their lives and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.

PM Modi said that Nadia is the sacred land where Shri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, the embodiment of love, compassion and devotion, manifested himself. He noted that the chants of Harinaam Sankirtan that once echoed across villages and along the banks of the Ganga were not merely expressions of devotion, but a powerful call for social unity.

He highlighted the immense contribution of the Matua community in strengthening social harmony, recalling the teachings of Shri Harichand Thakur, the social reform efforts of Shri Guruchand Thakur, and the motherly compassion of Boro Maa. He bowed to all these revered figures for their lasting impact on society.

The PM said that Bengal and the Bengali language have made invaluable contributions to India’s history and culture, with Vande Mataram being one of the nation’s most powerful gifts. He noted that the country is marking 150 years of Vande Mataram and that Parliament has recently paid tribute to this iconic song. He said West Bengal is the land of Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay, whose creation of Vande Mataram awakened national consciousness during the freedom struggle.

He stressed that Vande Mataram should inspire a Viksit Bharat and awaken the spirit of a Viksit West Bengal, adding that this sacred idea forms the BJP’s roadmap for the state.

PM Modi said BJP-led governments are focused on policies that enhance the strength and capabilities of every citizen. He cited the GST Savings Festival as an example, noting that essential goods were made affordable, enabling families in West Bengal to celebrate Durga Puja and other festivals with joy.

He also highlighted major investments in infrastructure, mentioning the approval of two important highway projects that will improve connectivity between Kolkata and Siliguri and strengthen regional development.

The PM said the nation wants fast-paced development and referred to Bihar’s recent strong mandate in favour of the BJP-NDA. He recalled stating that the Ganga flows from Bihar to Bengal and that Bihar has shown the path for BJP’s victory in West Bengal as well.

He said that while Bihar has decisively rejected jungle raj, West Bengal must now free itself from what he described as Maha Jungle Raj. Referring to the popular slogan, he said the state is calling out, “Bachte Chai, BJP Tai.”

The PM emphasised that there is no shortage of funds, intent or schemes for West Bengal’s development, but alleged that projects worth thousands of crores are stalled due to corruption and commissions. He appealed to the people to give BJP a chance and form a double-engine government to witness rapid development.

He cautioned people to remain alert against what he described as TMC’s conspiracies, alleging that the party is focused on protecting infiltrators. He said that whenever BJP raises concerns over infiltration, TMC leaders respond with abuse, which also explains their opposition to SIR in West Bengal.

Concluding his address, PM Modi said West Bengal needs a BJP government that works at double speed to restore the state’s pride. He assured that he would speak in greater detail about BJP’s vision when he visits the state in person.
