Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today kicked off the BJP's campaign for the upcoming Delhi assembly elections by addressing a mega rally at Ramlila Maidan. Amid the chants and slogans of people, PM Modi said unity in diversity is the hallmark of India. "Ramlila Maidan is a historic place. I can see an end to uncertainties on your faces," he said to the residents of unauthorized colonies.

Congratulating residents of unauthorized colonies, PM Modi said, "Even after several decades after Independence, a large section of population in Delhi had to face fear, uncertainty, deceit & false electoral promises. Illegal, sealing, bulldozer and a cut-off date - life of a large population in Delhi' was confined around these words. I am happy that the BJP and the government have had the opportunity of bringing a new dawn in the lives of 40 lakh people of Delhi."

In a scathing attack on the Congress Party, Prime Minister Modi said that they gave land to VVIPs, while his party gave land to the people of Delhi. He also attacked the ruling Aam Aadmi Party government and said that it was doing nothing to provide clean water to the people of Delhi.

PM Modi during his speech at the Ramlila Maidan said that earlier governments did nothing to expand the metro network. He added that the fourth phase of Delhi Metro was stalled unnecessarily by the previous government. “25 km of new metro route added annually in last five years, it was 14 km earlier. In the last five years, we've made unprecedented development in Delhi Metro. We also built the Peripheral Expressway to decongest Delhi,” he said.

The Prime Minister addressed the Citizenship Amendment Act issue that has caused massive protests across India and said that fake news and misinformation regarding the act is being spread to provoke people by the Congress and its cronies.

Assuring everyone that Modi Government not stripping anyone of their rights, PM Modi highlighted, “Some political parties are spreading rumours, they are misleading people and inciting them. I want to ask them, when we authorized the unauthorized colonies, did we ask anyone their religion? Did we ask which political party they support? Did we ask for documents from 1970, 1980?”

PM Modi hit out at the opposition parties for spreading rumours about elaborate paperwork in to prove Citizenship in the CAA. He said his government never put the restriction of paperwork when it provided welfare schemes to the poor. “Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, Christians all were befitted, everyone who lives here was benefitted. We have never asked anyone if he goes to temple or mosque when it comes to implementing our schemes. We are dedicated to the mantra of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas',” he added furthermore.

In a furious attack on the violent protests against the CAA, PM Modi said, "Hate me but don't hate India. Burn my effigies but don't burn a poor man's auto-rickshaw. What will you get from beating poor people, poor drivers and policemen.” He asserted that the police is there to always help the people and attacking them is not justified. 33,000 police personnel laid down their lives during work since independence but now being attacked mercilessly.

Citing no rules framed about NRC, PM Modi remarked, “There have been multiple rumours about NRC too. NRC was implemented in Assam after the Supreme Court order. There are no rules that have been framed, it has not been introduced in Parliament. While we are giving you your right with the unauthorized colonies bill, will we then try and snatch your right?"

Training his guns at the Congress party, PM Modi said, “Politicians belonging to 100-year old political parties are not voicing for peace. Now that the people of the country have dismissed them, they have gone back to their old measures of divide and rule. Citizenship law and NRC have nothing to do with Indian Muslims and there is no detention centre in the country.”

PM Modi while reassuring that no one's citizenship is threatened, said, " Who understands the pain of refugees better than people of Delhi? CAA, in fact, provides citizenship to the religiously persecuted minorities from Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh. CAA is not to take away citizenship, it is to give citizenship to people.” He requested the youth of the country to read the Act in detail and told them not to fall prey to the rumors of detention-centers being spread by Urban Naxals and Congress.

The Prime Minister attacked the Congress for opposing the Citizenship Amendment Act and named few of its leaders who once supported the Act. He also quoted ex-PM Manmohan Singh's remarks in support of giving citizenship to persecuted minorities from Bangladesh.

PM Modi said that during the tenure of his government, India's relationship with Gulf countries had improved. He highlighted that Muslim countries released many Indian prisoners, and Saudi increased Hajj quota because of India's growing ties with the Islamic nations.

He appealed to people to contribute in Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and urged everyone to stop using single-use plastics. Several party leaders and karyakartas were present at the event.

Assam is world famous for its tea, but soon people will talk about its 'Chip' as well – ‘Chai bhi, Chip bhi’: PM Modi in Assam
Our double engine government understood people's pain, and in just 11 years we built five bridges on the Brahmaputra: PM Modi
The Assam election is about building a Viksit Bharat with a Viksit Assam. The hattrick of the BJP-NDA government is certain: PM Modi
You form the BJP government again and Assam will progress at an even faster pace. This is Modi’s guarantee: PM Modi in Gogamukh

Campaigning for the upcoming Assembly elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a massive public gathering in Gogamukh, marking his first rally in Assam after the announcement of polls. The event witnessed an overwhelming turnout, with enthusiastic participation from youth, women and local communities, signaling strong momentum for the BJP-led NDA.

Opening his address with high energy, the Prime Minister said, “This is my first public meeting after the announcement of elections in Assam. The sea of people in front of me, the enthusiasm of the youth and the blessings of our mothers and sisters clearly show this time, a hat-trick is certain.” Echoing popular sentiment, he added, “Everyone is saying- ‘Aakou Ebaar… NDA Shorkar!’”

Invoking the spiritual and cultural heritage of Assam, PM Modi remarked, “I am fortunate to begin this campaign with the blessings of Lord Shiva at Ghughuli Dol and Donyi-Polo. I bow to Srimanta Sankardev and pay tribute to great sons of Assam like Lachit Borphukan and Bharat Ratna Bhupen Hazarika.”

Highlighting the development trajectory under BJP governments, PM Modi said, “Under the leadership of Sarbananda Sonowal and now Himanta Biswa Sarma, Assam has witnessed a new era of service and good governance over the past decade.” He emphasized that the election is not just about forming a government but about building a ‘Viksit Assam for a Viksit Bharat.’

Referring to the BJP’s recently released manifesto, he noted, “This ‘Sankalp Patra’ is truly a ‘Mangal Patra’- it brings prosperity for Assam. It lays out a clear roadmap for jobs, self-employment and ₹5 lakh crore investment in infrastructure.”

On women empowerment, he said, “Through the Lakhpati Didi initiative, nearly 3 lakh women in Assam have already become financially independent. Now, we aim to empower 40 lakh women.”

Emphasizing farmers’ welfare, PM Modi said that over ₹7,500 crore has been transferred to 20 lakh farmers under PM-KISAN. He added, “Small farmers will now receive an additional ₹11,000 annually. Our government is also committed to permanent solutions for Assam’s flood problem.”

Contrasting past and present, the PM reiterated, “The youth of today have only seen BJP’s governance. They have not witnessed the dark days of Congress rule when Assam was known for violence, curfews and unrest.”

He added that Assam is now defined by development, citing examples such as refinery expansion, bamboo-based bio-refinery projects, and upcoming semiconductor manufacturing. “Soon, Assam will be known not just for tea, but also for chips. ‘Chai bhi, Chip bhi’-this is our roadmap for a Viksit Assam.”

Targeting the opposition, PM Modi said, “For Congress, power and family come first. They ignored Assam’s development for decades.” He also warned against divisive politics, alleging that Congress is attempting to revive policies of appeasement.

Coming down heavily on Congress, PM Modi said, “The people of Assam have freed the state from Congress’s misgovernance, but must remain vigilant as the party is now attempting to push a ‘dangerous agenda’ for political gain.” He recalled that before 2014, the Congress-led government had tried to introduce a divisive communal violence law aimed at appeasement, which was stopped by the BJP-NDA. He alleged that Congress is once again proposing a similar approach in Assam, exposing its intent to divide society for votes.

The Prime Minister further accused Congress of supporting infiltration and previously allowing illegal encroachments on farmers’ and tribal lands. He asserted that while the BJP-NDA government is taking strict action against such encroachments, Congress is opposing these efforts. Warning that Congress seeks to alter Assam’s demographic balance, he assured that the BJP-NDA government will continue to protect the land, rights and identity of Assam’s people, calling it ‘Modi’s guarantee.’

Highlighting infrastructure growth, the PM pointed out that while only three bridges were built over the Brahmaputra in decades of Congress rule, the BJP government has completed five major bridges in just over a decade, with more underway.

Reaffirming commitment to tribal welfare, PM Modi said, “Our mantra is ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’. Those left behind will be brought forward.” He highlighted initiatives for the Missing community, including education in native language and youth employment programs.

Concluding his address, PM Modi urged voters to ensure a record turnout. “On April 9, all voting records must be broken. Every BJP-NDA candidate is a soldier of Assam’s development. Make them victorious.” He ended with a strong assurance: “You form the BJP government again and Assam will progress at an even faster pace. This is Modi’s guarantee.”
