Hon'ble CM inaugrates Swarnim Dental College in Khokhra

Gujarat Chief Minister, Narendra Modi inaugurated the Swarnim Dental College in the Khokhra area of Ahmedabad on Sunday. The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation's Medical Education Trust-run dental college is spread over an area of 25,000 square yard. The college built at cost of Rs30 crore has 150 seats. 

"There is need for more doctors to serve the society. The state government plans to build medical education facilities in the state so that the students don't need to go to other states to study medicine," Shri Narendra Modi said. He also asked doctors to volunteer and treat the poor and needy. The CM said that the doctors should participate in the campaign contributing 100 hours of social service and join 'Vanche Gujarat'.

Along with the CM, revenue minister Anandiben Patel, mayor Kanaji Thakore, member of parliament Dr Kirit Solanki, deputy mayor Kalpanaben Bhatt, standing committee chairman Asit Vora, municipal commissioner IP Gautam and other office bearers and officials of AMC were present on this occasion.

PM to inaugurate 28th Conference of Speakers and Presiding Officers of the Commonwealth on 15th January

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will inaugurate the 28th Conference of Speakers and Presiding Officers of the Commonwealth (CSPOC) on 15th January 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Central Hall of Samvidhan Sadan, Parliament House Complex, New Delhi. Prime Minister will also address the gathering on the occasion.

The Conference will be chaired by the Speaker of the Lok Sabha, Shri Om Birla and will be attended by 61 Speakers and Presiding Officers of 42 Commonwealth countries and 4 semi-autonomous parliaments from different parts of the world.

The Conference will deliberate on a wide range of contemporary parliamentary issues, including the role of Speakers and Presiding Officers in maintaining strong democratic institutions, the use of artificial intelligence in parliamentary functioning, the impact of social media on Members of Parliament, innovative strategies to enhance public understanding of Parliament and citizen participation beyond voting, among others.
