CM lays foundation stone for Rs.2870 Crores projects at G.N.F.C

Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi, today, laid foundation for Rs.2870 Crores -two-projects at G.N.F.C Bharuch. He remarked that Gujarat has taken innovative strides, by taking up new developments projects in various sectors; Gujarat continues to make valuable contribution for country’s development. The ammonia-gas conversion project is likely to benefit Union Government, in terms of the subsidy by G.N.F.C to Indian Government, to the tune of Rs. 440 Crores.

Chief Minister said that Dahej truly stands in Global Comparison; it has carved out a unique- global-niche as Petroleum –Terminal- Port. Gujarat has gained and retained 9.6% growth rate in agriculture, glittering galaxies belongs to Gujarat, Gujarat has been spearheading the agriculture revolution, added CM.

To mark the Golden Jubilee Celebrations, Gujarat Narmada valley Fertilisers Company has taken up two ambitious projects with an investment of Rs. 2870 Crores. Chief Minister performed ground breaking ceremony today. The upcoming ammonia –Plant-Feedstock-Gas Conversion project, worth Rs. 1215 Crores is likely to save the production cost of Urea; according to an estimate, it is going to save Rs 444 Crores annually. Another project, the TDI project, is only of its kind in South-East Asia and Africa, GNFC is being credited as the lone manufacturing unit producing Toluene Dye Associate. A sum of Rs. 1655 crores is to be spent on it, likely to start its functions by Dec-2011.

CM highlighted State’s strategy under which qualitative changes are brought upon by implementing value-addition measures in Chemical, Petro-Chemical, and Pharmaceuticals products. The outcome is very prominent; the Public Sector Units have created a positive influence in global markets. State has implemented various dynamic policy initiatives, added CM.

CM detailed the environmental and economic advantages of both the projects. The production cost of Urea is to be reduced significantly, ultimately benefiting the farmers. The TDI ensures environment conservation; it is also to extend its benefits to common man providing raw-materials.

Gujarat earns the maximum carbon-credit in the country; around 39% of nation’s total carbon-credit is earned by Gujarat. Rising above narrow mindset, Gujarat relentlessly works for betterment of humankind, said CM. Entrepreneurship and innovations are our forte, he added.

Minister of State for Energy, Shri Saurabh Patel claimed that the upcoming projects are going blaze a new trail in Chemical Industries. Gujarat is the Growth Engine, forging ahead with 11.5% GDP, making immense contribution in nation’s economy which grows at 8%.

He regretted that the Gas Policy of Union Government remains responsible for the rise in Electricity Charges.

Union Secretary, Shri Krishnan and Chief Secretary Shri A.K.Joti also addressed the ceremony.

Earlier, delivering welcome address, Administrative Head of G.N.F.C, Shri Guruprasad Mahapatra reflected upon the progressive journey of GNFC during the last 34 years.

As Part of corporate social responsibility, GNFC donated Rs. 50 Lakhs; L&T donated Rs.25 Lakhs and Narmada Chematur Donated Rs. 25 Lakhs in to Chief Minister’s Girl Child Education Fund.

Urban Development Minister Shri Nitin Patel, Parliamentary Secretary Shri Ishwarsinh Patel, Rajya Sabha M.P.Shri Bharatsinh Parmar, MLA Shri Dushyant Patel, District Collector Shri Rupavantsinh, eminent leaders, Industrialists, farmers were among others who attended the function.

Prime Minister Congratulates Indian Squash Team on World Cup Victory

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today congratulated the Indian Squash Team for creating history by winning their first‑ever World Cup title at the SDAT Squash World Cup 2025.

Shri Modi lauded the exceptional performance of Joshna Chinnappa, Abhay Singh, Velavan Senthil Kumar and Anahat Singh, noting that their dedication, discipline and determination have brought immense pride to the nation. He said that this landmark achievement reflects the growing strength of Indian sports on the global stage.

The Prime Minister added that this victory will inspire countless young athletes across the country and further boost the popularity of squash among India’s youth.
