Congress questioning the valour of our courageous Jawans who conducted surgical strikes is unacceptable: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today addressed two huge public meetings in Nagaur and Bharatpur in the poll-bound state of Rajasthan. While in Nagaur, PM Modi began his address by paying tributes to Mahatma Jyotirao Phule on his 128th death anniversary.

Later, attacking the Congress party for serving its own interests for generations, PM Modi said that unlike them, he was not born with a golden spoon and so he completely understood the daily struggles of common people.

Prime Minister Modi further came down heavily on the Congress for ignoring the plight of the farmers for generations and using them as a tool for gaining political points instead. “Those shedding crocodile tears for the farmers now should first answer where were they ten years ago when the Swaminathan Commission recommended their government to increase the farmers’ Minimum Support Price (MSP) to one and half times their costs to address the farmers’ grievances? Why did they not implement these recommendations and put them aside for ten long years? It was our government that implemented this decision soon after coming to power,” he added.

Speaking at length about the various other initiatives like the Awas Yojana and Ujjwala Yojana, the PM cited how these were ushering in a positive change in the lives of many. Attacking the years of misgovernance of the Congress party, PM Modi said, “If only the Namdarswould have thought about the welfare of poor, they would have ensured gas connections to them. After we came to power, under Ujjwala Yojana, we ensured free LPG connections for them.”

Addressing his second rally at Bharatpur, PM Modi set the tone straight for terror sympathizers within the Congress party saying, “The close aides of the ‘Namdar’ Congress leader say that Urban Naxals, Maoists and Separatists are ‘revolutionaries!’ We can never forgive these ‘Namdars’ who sympathize with the murders of our brave sons of Rajasthan.” In this context, he described how national security has improved under his government unlike the pre-2014 Congress governments when terrorist attacks across the country became quite frequent. He said this contrasting situation after 2014 has been made possible by the power of every vote that voted the BJP government in power.

The Prime Minister launched a scathing attack on the Congress for disrespecting the army chief and questioning the surgical strikes. The PM said, “Such is Congress’ arrogance that it does not even shy away and shamefully terms army chief as a goon! How can they question the valour of our courageous Jawans who conduct surgical strikes? How can we approve of such statements by the Congress? This is unacceptable.”

The PM also accused the Congress of rampant corruption over the years when they were in power.

Concluding his address in Bharatpur, Prime Minister Modi asked his supporters to vote for the BJP in large numbers on the upcoming voting day, 7th December.
