প্রধানমন্ত্রী শ্রী নরেন্দ্র মোদী, সরকার প্রধান হিসেবে তাঁর কার্যকালের ২৫ বছর উপলক্ষে শুভেচ্ছার জন্য দেশবাসীর প্রতি কৃতজ্ঞতা জানিয়েছেন। ২০০১ সালের এই দিনেই তিনি গুজরাটের মুখ্যমন্ত্রী হিসেবে শপথ নেন। সেই সময় থেকেই সাধারণ মানুষের জীবনযাপনের মানোন্নয়ন এবং দেশের বিকাশের লক্ষ্যে তিনি ধারাবাহিক ভাবে সচেষ্ট থেকেছেন বলে প্রধানমন্ত্রী জানিয়েছেন। 

প্রধানমন্ত্রী বলেছেন, খুবই এক জটিল এক সময় গুজরাটের মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর দায়িত্ব এসে পড়েছিল তাঁর কাঁধে। ওই বছরেই ভয়াবহ ভূমিকম্পের ধাক্কা সইতে হয়েছে ওই রাজ্যকে। আঘাত হেনেছে সুপার সাইক্লোন। উপর্যুপরি খরা এবং রাজনৈতিক অস্থিরতা পরিস্থিতি আরও জটিল করে তুলেছিল। এই সব সমস্যাকে চ্যালেঞ্জ হিসেবে নিয়ে তিনি নতুন উদ্যমে গুজরাটের পুনরুজ্জীবন এবং মানুষের কল্যাণে ব্রতী হওয়ার সিদ্ধান্ত নেন। গুজরাটের মুখ্যমন্ত্রী হিসেবে শপথ নেওয়ার সময় থেকেই তাঁর মায়ের কথা অনুযায়ী কাজ করে দরিদ্রের সেবায় আত্মনিয়োগ করেছেন বলে প্রধানমন্ত্রী উল্লেখ করেন। দুর্নীতিকে প্রশয় দেননি কখনই। ওই সময় গুজরাটের ভবিষ্যৎ নিয়ে মানুষ চিন্তিত ছিলেন। কৃষকরা জল ও বিদ্যুতের সমস্যার মুখোমুখি ছিলেন তখন। শিল্পের বিকাশ থমকে গিয়েছিল। সম্মিলিত প্রয়াসে সেই অবস্থা কাটিয়ে উঠে গুজরাট পরবর্তীকালে সুপ্রশাসনের দৃষ্টান্ত স্থাপন করেছে বলে প্রধানমন্ত্রী মন্তব্য করেছেন। একসময় খরায় দীর্ণ ওই রাজ্য কৃষি ক্ষেত্রে প্রথম স্থানে উঠে এসেছে এবং উৎপাদন এবং বাণিজ্য ক্ষেত্রে উন্নয়নের দৃষ্টান্ত স্থাপন করেছে।

 

তিনি বলেন, ২০১৩-য় তাঁর কাছে পরের বছর লোকসভা নির্বাচনে প্রধানমন্ত্রী পদপ্রার্থী হওয়ার সুযোগ আসে। সেই সময় সারা দেশে সুস্থিতির অভাব ছিল। প্রশাসন নিয়েও মানুষের অভিযোগ ছিল বিস্তর। তাঁদের দল ও জোট বিপুল সংখ্যাগরিষ্ঠতায় ক্ষমতাসীন হওয়ার পর সারা দেশে প্রত্যয় ও আকাঙ্খার নতুন অধ্যায়ের সূচনা হয়। 

বিগত ১১ বছরে ভারত একের পর এক মাইলফলক পেরিয়েছে বলে প্রধানমন্ত্রী মন্তব্য করেছেন। তিনি বলেন, এই সময় ২৫ কোটি মানুষ দারিদ্র্যসীমার ওপরে উঠে এসেছেন এবং সারা বিশ্বের আঙিনায় অর্থনৈতিক শক্তি হিসেবে নজর কেড়েছে ভারত। দেশের মানুষ, বিশেষত নারী ও যুবশক্তি, পরিশ্রমী অন্নদাতাদের ক্ষমতায়ন হয়েছে ধারাবাহিক প্রশাসনিক সংস্কারের মাধ্যমে।

 

প্রধানমন্ত্রী বলেন, বর্তমানে দেশকে সব ক্ষেত্রে আত্মনির্ভর করে তোলার মন্ত্রে এগিয়ে চলেছেন নাগরিকরা। গর্বের সঙ্গে স্বদেশী পণ্যের ব্যবহারের বার্তা দিচ্ছেন। দেশের মানুষ তাঁর ওপর ধারাবাহিক ভাবে আস্থা রেখে চলেছেন এবং এই দেশকে সেবা করা তাঁর কাছে সবচেয়ে সম্মানের বিষয় বলে প্রধানমন্ত্রী জানিয়েছেন। বিকশিত ভারতের স্বপ্ন পূরণে আরও কঠোর পরিশ্রম করতে তিনি দায়বদ্ধ বলেও আশ্বস্ত করেছেন প্রধানমন্ত্রী।

Both leaders note significant progress in trade and investment, technology, defence, energy, health, agriculture, and people-to-people ties.
The leaders also exchange views on regional and global issues of mutual interest.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi received a telephone call today from the President of the Federative Republic of Brazil, His Excellency Mr. Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.

The two leaders reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthen the India–Brazil Strategic Partnership and take it to even greater heights in the year ahead.

Recalling their meetings last year in Brasília and South Africa, the two leaders noted with satisfaction the significant progress achieved across diverse areas of bilateral cooperation, including trade and investment, technology, defence, energy, health, agriculture, and people-to-people ties.

The leaders also exchanged views on regional and global issues of mutual interest. They also underscored the importance of reformed multilateralism in addressing shared challenges.

Prime Minister Modi conveyed that he looked forward to welcoming President Lula to India at an early date.
