ভারতের দীর্ঘতম সুড়ঙ্গ সড়কের উদ্বোধন করলেন প্রধানমন্ত্রী। রবিবার, জম্মু ও কাশ্মীরের ৯কিলোমিটার দীর্ঘ চেনানি-নাশরি সুড়ঙ্গ পথটি তিনি উৎসর্গ করেন জাতির উদ্দেশে। উদ্বোধনের পর সমগ্র সুড়ঙ্গ পথ ধরেই সফর করেন তিনি। এর মূল বৈশিষ্ট্য সম্পর্কে তখনবিশদভাবে অবহিত করা হয় প্রধানমন্ত্রীকে।
এইউপলক্ষে উধমপুরে আয়োজিত এক জনসমাবেশে শ্রী মোদী বলেন, এই সুড়ঙ্গ সড়কটি শুধুমাত্রবিশ্বমানেরই নয়, এযাবৎকালের মধ্যে সর্বশ্রেষ্ঠ। পরিবেশ-বান্ধব এই সুড়ঙ্গ বিশ্বউষ্ণায়নের মোকাবিলায় এক বিশেষ কার্যকর ভূমিকা পালন করবে বলেই মনে করেন তিনি ।
প্রধানমন্ত্রীবলেন, একদিকে যখন কিছু বিপথগামী যুবক ধ্বংস ও নাশকতার কাজে পাথর হাতে তুলে নিয়েছে,অন্যদিকে তেমনই কাশ্মীরের আরও বেশ কিছু যুবক পাথর কেটে তৈরি করছেন নতুন নতুনপরিকাঠামো। এই সুড়ঙ্গ পথ শুধুমাত্র পর্যটনেরই প্রসার ঘটাবে না, সাহায্য করবেরাজ্যের অর্থনৈতিক সমৃদ্ধিতেও।
হিংসাও সন্ত্রাস কখনই মানুষকে সাহায্য করে না – একথার ওপর জোর দিয়ে প্রধানমন্ত্রী বলেন,জম্মু ও কাশ্মীরের উন্নয়নে কেন্দ্রীয় সরকার ঘোষিত প্যাকেজ অনুযায়ী রাজ্যে বিভিন্নকর্মপ্রচেষ্টার ইতিমধ্যেই সূচনা হয়েছে। এজন্য তিনি বিশেষভাবে ধন্যবাদ জানানরাজ্যের মুখ্যমন্ত্রী শ্রীমতী মেহবুবা মুফতিকে।
ভূতপূর্বপ্রধানমন্ত্রী শ্রী অটল বিহারী বাজপেয়ীর দৃষ্টিভঙ্গি ও কর্মপ্রচেষ্টার কথা উল্লেখকরে শ্রী মোদী বলেন, কেন্দ্রীয় সরকারের মূল মন্ত্রই হল উন্নয়ন যা শুধুমাত্রজনসাধারণের সক্রিয় অংশগ্রহণের মাধ্যমেই গড়ে তোলা সম্ভব।
