Karnataka: PM Modi to inaugurate the Bidar - Kalaburagi New Railway Line

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, will visit Karnataka tomorrow - 29-10-2017. He will address three public meetings in the course of the day. 

He will begin his visit to the State by offering prayers at the Shri Manjunatha Swamy Temple at Dharmasthala. He will address a public meeting, and distribute RuPay cards to beneficiaries at the Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project, at Ujire. This will enable the Self Help Groups to begin cashless digital transactions. 

The Prime Minister will then travel to Bengaluru, where he will address the gathering at the Dashamah Soundarya Lahari Parayanotsava Mahasarmapane. 

The Soundarya Lahari is a set of shlokas composed by Adi Shankaracharya. The event has been organized for the mass chanting of these shlokas in unison. 

Later in the day, at Bidar, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the Bidar - Kalaburagi New Railway Line. He will also address a public meeting.

Prime Minister shares Sanskrit Subhashitam paying tribute to Shaheed Udham Singh

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, paid heartfelt tributes to the great revolutionary martyr Udham Singh on his Balidan Diwas. He said that the saga of courage and valour embodied in Udham Singh’s life will continue to inspire every generation of the country to uphold the honour and self-respect of the motherland.

The Prime Minister shared a Sanskrit Subhashitam-

“न जातु शौर्यं पुरुषस्य भानुरस्तं गतो भवति कदापि शश्वत्।

यथा पुनस्तपति दिवाकरोऽयं तथा पुनर्विक्रमते स वीरः॥”

The Subhashitam conveys that The sun of valor never sets permanently. Just as the sun rises and shines brightly again, so too does a brave man triumph over every adversity with his valor.

The Prime Minister wrote on X;

“महान क्रांतिकारी शहीद उधम सिंह को उनके बलिदान दिवस पर सादर नमन। हिम्मत और हौसले से भरी उनकी जीवनगाथा देश की हर पीढ़ी को मातृभूमि के स्वाभिमान की रक्षा के लिए प्रेरित करती रहेगी।
