Highlights of PM’s address in Sarsawa, Uttar Pradesh:

Beginning his address, the Prime Minister said that Uttar Pradesh, in times to come, will change the fortune of India. He said that the state had immense potential to prosper and contribute to the nation.

He highlighted several steps being taken by the Government at Centre for the benefit and welfare of the sugarcane farmers. Shri Narendra Modi also complemented the farmers for increased production of pulses.

The PM, lambasting on the Congress party, said that they have always had an “anti-poor mindset” due to which they suffered in the Lok Sabha polls. “A party that was of about 400 MPs was reduced to just 40. Just because of such anti-poor state of mind, they haven’t won in even the civic polls of Madhya Pradesh, Bengaluru and Rajasthan”, the PM said.

PM Narendra Modi hitting out at Congress said that they have practised negative politics and stalled progress of the country. Adding further, the PM said, “Time of negative politics is over. PM Narendra Modi targeted Congress, saying that they have let down the spirit of democracy. PM said that Congress did not let the Parliament function properly even when all other parties wanted the House to function. “Congress is doing negative politics and that is why they are seeing these days”, he added.
