Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed two public meetings on September 11, 2015 –one in Sarsawa, Uttar Pradesh and another in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand. Huge crowd gathered in both the rallies to listen to the Prime Minister. The PM talked about the successful implementation of ‘One Rank, One Pension’ and several steps being taken by the Government of India to bring about a change in the lives at the grassroot level.

Highlights of PM’s address in Sarsawa, Uttar Pradesh:

Beginning his address, the Prime Minister said that Uttar Pradesh, in times to come, will change the fortune of India. He said that the state had immense potential to prosper and contribute to the nation.

He highlighted several steps being taken by the Government at Centre for the benefit and welfare of the sugarcane farmers. Shri Narendra Modi also complemented the farmers for increased production of pulses.

The PM, lambasting on the Congress party, said that they have always had an “anti-poor mindset” due to which they suffered in the Lok Sabha polls. “A party that was of about 400 MPs was reduced to just 40. Just because of such anti-poor state of mind, they haven’t won in even the civic polls of Madhya Pradesh, Bengaluru and Rajasthan”, the PM said.

PM Narendra Modi hitting out at Congress said that they have practised negative politics and stalled progress of the country. Adding further, the PM said, “Time of negative politics is over. The more dirt is thrown on us, the more the Lotus will shine.” He said that the Government at Centre is committed the development of the nation.

Highlights of PM’s address in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand:

Speaking at a public meeting in Rishikesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that Government would take all possible measures to realise the dreams of the people.

Prime Minister Modi largely talked about the successful implementation of ‘One Rank, One Pension’ recently by the Government of India. “When we would talk of OROP earlier, we believed the previous government's figure of Rs. 500 crore. We thought figure would be around that. But when we went into the depth of the issue we realised the number stood at Rs. 10,000 crore”, added the PM.

PM Narendra Modi targeted Congress, saying that they have let down the spirit of democracy. PM said that Congress did not let the Parliament function properly even when all other parties wanted the House to function. “Congress is doing negative politics and that is why they are seeing these days”, he added.

He highlighted various initiatives taken by the Union Government. “We are working to provide 24/7 electricity to the people, including in the hills”, he added. He said that this Government won’t only make plans, but execute the roadmap to bring about a positive change in the country.
