Chief Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated a renovated Panjara-Pol and a newly built Mamlatdar office at Vijapur.

Panjara Pol at Vijapur was set up some 200 years back by the Dayachand Dharamchand firm, with a view to take care of dumb animals. This panjara-pol is renovated by the family of Shri Kalawati Vimalbhai Shah. Now this renovated panjara pol will serve above 2000 cattle.

Speaking on the occasion Chief Minister said that animals are a part of nature and killing them for no cause is a kind of abnormality. Cow-salvage is a truth of the land of Gujarat and Gujarat Government has got justice in this case after a successful fight in court. Through Krushi Mahotsav, State Government has gone for vaccination of animals and eliminated about 162 animal diseases. It is only Gujarat who cared these animals so much, he said. He also suggested starting animal hostels in villages for the cattle rising.

While inaugurating Mamlatdar office, Shri Modi said that there is no scope for the land mafias in Gujarat. He appealed to take stern actions against such entities.

Gujarat's Revenue Minister Smt. Anandiben Patel exuded hope that the new Mamlatdar office costing rupees two crore will act as a centre that will effectively deal with problems faced by people. She also gave outline of the revolutionary steps taken by Revenue Department including computerization of land records.

Ex. Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama, MLAs, Panchayat Office Bearers, society leaders, Trustees of panjara-pol and animal-lovers were present on the occasion. Sanghavi family gave a chaque of rupees five lakh to Chief Minister's Kanya Kelavni Nidhi.
