Andhra Pradesh maritime sector delegation meets Gujarat Chief Minister

Shri Narendra Modi asks Centre to plan overall coastal development of all maritime states, in cooperation with private sector   

Ahmedabad, Monday: A delegation of experts from the maritime sector of Andhra Pradesh led by their Minister for Port-Airport & Infrastructure Ganta Shrinivas Rao called on Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today. 

Mr. Modi presented to the delegation an overview of Gujarat’s developing a strong infrastructure in ports and other sectors, including coastal marine police force, maritime engineering, port management, port-led railway, coastal environment, port city Dholera SIR, coastal cargo movement during the last ten years.   

The delegation from Andhra Pradesh, which is also a maritime state with a coastline of 1,000-km, has come to Gujarat to study its success story of overall coastal development. They were impressed by the accolades won by Gujarat Maritime Board and Gujarat State Coastal Development Authority for developing Gujarat’s 1,600-km long coastline, ports, port cities and port-related activities for global economy in the 21st Century by Mr. Modi.

Mr. Modi said the Central Government should also plan overall coastal development of all maritime states, in cooperation with private sector

Prime Minister pays tribute to Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev on Shaheed Diwas

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today paid rich tributes to the great freedom fighters, Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev, on the occasion of Shaheed Diwas.

The Prime Minister observed that the martyrdom of these iconic heroes for the nation remains deeply etched in India's collective memory, noting that at a young age, they displayed an unshakable commitment to the cause of India’s freedom. Shri Modi highlighted that, undeterred by the might of colonial rule, they chose the path of sacrifice with conviction, placing the nation above their own lives, and their ideals of justice, patriotism, and fearless resistance continue to ignite the spirit of countless Indians today.

The Prime Minister wrote on X:

"Today, we bow in reverence to the brave sons of Bharat Mata, Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev. Their martyrdom for the nation remains etched in our collective memory.

At a young age, they displayed extraordinary courage and an unshakable commitment to the cause of India’s freedom.
