PM Modi's meetings during his visit to Saudi Arabia

PM Modi held extensive meetings with several leaders during his visit to Riyadh in Saudi Arabia.

Meeting the King of Jordan:

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi met King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan His Majesty Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein today on the sidelines of the Future Investment Initiative (FII) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The two leaders exchanged views on strengthening bilateral relations, including MoUs and Agreements signed during His Majesty's visit to India from 27 February -01 March 2018. They discussed the Middle East Peace Process and other regional developments. Both leaders also discussed cooperation in counter-terrorism.

Historical links, cultural affinities and people-to-people contacts between India and Jordan have existed since times immemorial. Prime Minister's visit to Jordan and King's visit to India in 2018 have imparted a new momentum in our bilateral relations that are marked by mutual respect and understanding on various bilateral, regional and multilateral issues.

 

Discussions with Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture:

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi met Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Mr. Abdulrahman Al-Fadli. Prime Minister said that Environment, Water and Agriculture are the sectors in which there is a lot of potential for cooperation. He added that we are committed to work together to make our environment better and effectively harness water resources.

HE Ahmad Bin Salman Al Rajhi, Minister of Labour and Social Development called on PM Modi:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with His Excellency Ahmad Bin Salman Al Rajhi, Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Labour and Social Development. A wide range of issues were discussed during the meeting.

Prime Minister condoles passing of Smt. Chennamma Ji

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Smt. Chennamma Ji, wife of former Prime Minister, Shri Deve Gowda Ji. Shri Modi noted that Smt. Chennamma Ji was admired for her humility and passion towards serving society.

The Prime Minister posted on X;

“Deeply pained by the passing of Smt. Chennamma Ji, wife of former Prime Minister Shri Deve Gowda Ji. She was admired for her humility and passion towards serving society. In this hour of grief, my thoughts are with Shri Deve Gowda Ji and his entire family. Om Shanti.”
