Prime Minister Narendra Modi graced the historic lands of Pataliputra, Karakat & Buxar, Bihar, vowing to tirelessly drive the nation’s growth and prevent the opposition from dividing the country on the grounds of inequality.

As PM Modi further delved into his spirited address, he praised the dedication of BJP workers, attributing the party's success to their tireless efforts. He humorously noted the popularity of Maner ladoos, urging supporters to have them ready for June 4th. PM Modi also pointed out that the opposition's complaints about EVMs are the best indicator of NDA's impending victory. He confidently declared that new records would be set in Pataliputra and across the nation, echoing the sentiment, "Phir Ek Baar...Modi Sarkar!"

PM Modi highlighted the stark contrast between his vision and the opposition's focus. On one side, he is dedicated to building a Viksit and Aatmanirbhar Bharat by 2047, “working tirelessly to enhance national security and modernize infrastructure.” On the other side, “the INDI Alliance has no agenda but to criticize Modi and cater to their vote bank. The choice is clear: progress and development with Modi, or constant negativity with the INDI Alliance.”

PM Modi emphasized the importance of the upcoming election, not just for choosing MPs but for selecting the right PM. He underscored India's need for a strong leader who can showcase the nation's power on the global stage. Contrasting this vision, the PM highlighted the INDI Alliance’s plan to deliver five different PMs in five years, “The contenders? A parade of family members: sons and daughters from the Gandhi, SP, National Conference, NCP, TMC, AAP, fake Shiv Sena, and RJD families. Their aim is to play musical chairs with the Prime Minister's seat, driven by dynastic politics rather than national interest.”

In his address, PM Modi also underscored Bihar's historic role in championing social justice and the right to reservation for SC/ST/OBC communities. However, he revealed a bitter truth. “The RJD-Congress and their allies are betraying these very communities. The Constitution and Baba Saheb Ambedkar clearly state there should be no reservation based on religion. Yet, the RJD-Congress are conspiring to allocate SC/ST/OBC quotas to their vote bank, undermining constitutional principles,” he remarked.

PM Modi also exposed this betrayal, stating, “Every caste, including Yadav, Kurmi, Kushwaha, Kalwar, Teli, Suri, Kanu, Nishad, Paswan, Ravidas, and Musahar, has been robbed of their rightful reservation. These actions are not just unconstitutional but also a grave injustice to the children of Dalits, backward classes, and tribals, whose admission quotas have been unfairly reduced in favour of Muslims.” This, he emphasized, is a stark violation of the principles of social justice and the Constitution.

PM Modi shared his understanding of what it means to have one's rights taken away. This empathy drives his commitment to ensuring the poor receive their due. He reminded the crowd of the days “when Congress allowed grains to rot while refusing to feed the poor”, contrasting it with his own “policy of opening warehouse doors to every needy person, ensuring no mother stays awake worrying about feeding her child.”

PM Modi also announced plans to build more pucca houses, equipped with toilets, electricity, cheap gas cylinders, and tap water. He mentioned about the PM Suryaghar Yojana, which aims to reduce electricity bills to zero and install solar panels, allowing families to use free electricity and even earn by selling the surplus to the government.

In his second mega rally of the day in Karakat, Bihar, the PM discussed the baseless fears spread by the opposition, “The INDI Alliance warned that building a temple in Ayodhya would cause chaos. Today, Ramlala sits in a grand temple, and there is no unrest. They claimed that removing Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir would ignite turmoil. Modi, undeterred by their threats, decisively removed Article 370.”

The PM delivered a strong message against corruption, “I guarantee the people of Bihar that those who looted the poor and exploited land in exchange for jobs will face justice. The countdown to their jail journey has begun. Once their helicopter rides end, their prison terms will start. The NDA government will not spare those who looted Bihar. This is Modi Ki Guarantee!"

PM Modi emphasized the disregard of the INDI Alliance for the dignity of Biharis, he observed, “These INDI Alliance politicians will do anything for their political interests. They remain silent when Biharis are insulted. A Congress leader from Punjab insulted Bihari labourers, declaring they wouldn't be allowed to buy houses in Punjab. Did the Congress Shahi family apologize? No. Did RJD leaders stand up for Biharis? No. RJD lacks the courage to challenge Congress on this insult to Biharis."

The PM also made another solemn promise to the people of Bihar: "Now, every elder in every family of Bihar will receive free treatment under my responsibility."

While addressing the third massive rally of the day in Buxar, Bihar, PM Modi called attention to the forces obstructing India's progress, “Today, the Mahayagya of a Viksit Bharat is in progress. You can see who is hindering this national effort. When India stands united, these forces mock our resolve for development. While the whole country celebrates and Buxar sends gifts for Ramlala, who boycotts the consecration and calls the temple impure? These are the people of Congress, RJD, and the INDI Alliance. They obstruct every sacred effort. People of the virtuous land of Buxar, will you not answer these forces? Will they not get a full response?"

Amid the fervour of election season, PM Modi emphasized the NDA government’s achievements and pledges for the future, "The NDA government has a proven track record and a clear vision for the future. We've provided PM-Awas to 4 crore poor people. We gave free Ayushman cards for treatment and will extend this to all elderly above 70. With your vote, we'll offer free electricity through the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, make 3 crore sisters Lakhpati Didis, and continue free ration for 5 years. We'll ensure terrorism and Naxalism don't resurface.”

“But why do the INDI Alliance ask for your votes? They want to cancel CAA, allow infiltrators free entry, re-impose Article 370 in Kashmir, and endanger the lives of our sons on the border. Choose wisely, vote for BJP,” the PM further asked as he wanted the audience to introspect the true intentions of the Opposition.

As he concluded his speech, PM Modi urged everyone to visit local temples and seek blessings for a Viksit Bharat. He passionately encouraged the crowd to vote for the BJP, saying, "Let's ensure victory for a stronger, prosperous nation!"

Prime Minister urges MPs to vote in favour of Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam Amendment, Calls it Historic Opportunity
April 17, 2026

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, has highlighted that a discussion is currently underway in Parliament on the amendment to the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam, noting that deliberations continued till 1 AM last night.

He stated that all misconceptions surrounding the amendment have been addressed with logical responses, and every concern raised by members has been resolved. The Prime Minister added that necessary information, wherever lacking, has also been provided to all members, ensuring that issues of opposition have been clarified.

Emphasising that the issue of women’s reservation has witnessed political debates for nearly four decades, the Prime Minister said that the time has now come to ensure that women, who constitute half of the country’s population, receive their rightful representation.

He observed that even after decades of independence, the low representation of women in the decision-making process is not appropriate and needs to be corrected.

The Prime Minister informed that voting in the Lok Sabha is expected shortly and urged all political parties to take a thoughtful and sensitive decision by voting in favour of the women’s reservation amendment.

Appealing on behalf of the women of the country, he urged all Members of Parliament to ensure that no action hurts the sentiments of Nari Shakti. He noted that crores of women are looking towards the Parliament, its intent, and its decisions.

The Prime Minister called upon MPs to reflect upon their families-mothers, sisters, daughters, and wives—and listen to their inner conscience while making the decision.

He described the amendment as a significant opportunity to serve and honour the women of the nation and urged members not to deprive them of new opportunities.

Expressing confidence, the Prime Minister said that if the amendment is passed unanimously, it will further strengthen Nari Shakti as well as the country’s democracy.

Calling it a historic moment, he urged all members to come together to create history by granting rightful representation to women, who form half of India’s population.

The Prime Minister wrote on X;

"Parliament is discussing a historic legislation that paves the way for women’s reservation in legislative bodies. The discussions, which began yesterday, lasted till around 1 AM and have continued since the House proceedings began this morning.

The Government has addressed all apprehensions and misconceptions relating to the legislation with facts and logic. All concerns have been addressed and any gaps in information have also been filled.

For nearly four decades, this issue of women’s reservation in legislative bodies has been inordinately delayed. Now is the time to ensure that half of the nation’s population receives its rightful due in decision making. Even after so many decades of Independence, it is not right that women in India have such limited representation in this area.

In a short while from now, voting will take place in the Lok Sabha. I urge and appeal to all political parties to reflect carefully and take a sensitive decision by voting in favour of women’s reservation.

On behalf of our Nari Shakti, I also request all members not to do anything that may hurt the sentiments of women across India. Crores of women are watching us…our intent and our decisions. I once again request that everyone support the amendments to the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam.”

"I would like to appeal to all Members of Parliament…

Please reflect upon your conscience, remembering the women in your own families.

The legislation to ensure women’s reservation in legislative bodies is a significant opportunity to do justice to women of our nation.

Please do not deprive our Nari Shakti of new opportunities.

If this amendment is passed unanimously, it will further empower the women of our country and strengthen our democracy.

Let us come together today to create history.

Let us ensure that the women of India, who are half of the nation’s population, receive their rightful due.”
