PM to inaugurate 107th Indian Science Congress tomorrow at UAS, Bangalore

The Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will inaugurate 107th Indian Science Congress at University of Agricultural Sciences, GKVK, Bengaluru on Friday 3 January 2020. Prime Minister Modi will deliver the inaugural address on the occasion and also launch I-STEM Portal on the occasion. The Chief Minister of Karnataka Shri B. S. Yediyurappa and other dignitaries including Union Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan will be present on the occasion.

The Theme of the India Science Congress (ISC) this year is “Science and Technology: Rural Development”. More than 15,000 participants, including Nobel Laureates, Scientists, intellectuals, academicians, police makers, researchers, students and delegates from different institutions are expected to participate in the event. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi received a phone call today from the President of Sri Lanka, H.E. Anura Kumara Disanayaka.

The two leaders discussed the evolving situation in West Asia with an emphasis on disruptions affecting global energy security.

Both leaders reiterated the importance of keeping shipping lines open and secure in the interest of the whole world.

The two leaders reviewed progress on various initiatives aimed at strengthening India-Sri Lanka energy cooperation and enhancing regional security.

Prime Minister reiterated India’s firm commitment to work closely together in addressing shared challenges in line with India’s Neighbourhood First policy and MAHASAGAR Vision.

The two leaders agreed to stay in touch.
