The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, today, addressed over 25 lakh security guards (Chowkidars) across India, on the eve of Holi, through audio bridge.

Wishing all the Chowkidars a happy and colour filled Holi, Prime Minister said that the Chowkidars play an important role in making these colours look beautiful.

Saluting the exceptional work done by Chowkidars all over the country, Prime Minister said that he is proud to celebrate Holi with them. He added that the entire country is talking about Chowkidars and every Indian is now saying ‘I am also a Chowkidar’. He said that Chowkidars are today inspiring everyone to fight against all kinds of evils in the country.

Interacting with Chowkidars, Prime Minister said that it is unfortunate that some people with vested interests are defaming chowkidars. “I apologize to all of you for their misinformation. Naamdar always spread hate against Kamdar and will continue to do so”, PM said. He added that the entire country is proud of Chowkidars.

“You have brought respect to our profession. We are with you and the entire nation is with you”, said Santosh Kumar, a security guard from Odisha. The Prime Minister said that the entire nation is proud of the armed forces and their strong decisive action against the perpetrators of Pulwama attack. He strongly criticized the opposition for demotivating the forces through their statements and actions. He added that the nation will never forgive the opposition for their misinformation campaign.

The Prime Minister said that all those who work for the betterment of the country and are committed towards fulfilling the dreams of others are chowkidars. He urged everyone to keep a Chowkidar alive inside them.

The Prime Minister said that he is not deterred by the abuses of opposition, but rather converts those into appreciation. He added that he as a Chowkidar is committed towards the safety, security and development of the country.

During the interaction, the Prime Minister also mentioned about the various reforms initiated by the Union government for the welfare of the poor. In this context, he mentioned about the Ayushman Bharat scheme, Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maan-dhan Yojana, Jan Dhan Yojana etc.

PM Modi to distribute more than 51,000 appointment letters to youth under Rozgar Mela

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will distribute more than 51,000 appointment letters to newly appointed youth in various Government departments and organisations on 12th July at around 11:00 AM via video conferencing. He will also address the appointees on the occasion.

Rozgar Mela is a step towards fulfilment of Prime Minister’s commitment to accord highest priority to employment generation. The Rozgar Mela will play a significant role in providing meaningful opportunities to the youth for their empowerment and participation in nation building. More than 10 lakh recruitment letters have been issued so far through the Rozgar Melas across the country.

The 16th Rozgar Mela will be held at 47 locations across the country. The recruitments are taking place across Central Government Ministries and Departments. The new recruits, selected from across the country, will be joining the Ministry of Railways, Ministry of Home Affairs, Department of Posts, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Labour & Employment among other departments and ministries.
