Gandhinagar, Tuesday: An 18-member group of BJP Mahila Morcha’s Mumbai unit called on Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi here today and profusely complimented him for his achievements in the field of women’s and children’s welfare.
The group led by Morcha’s president Ms Vinda Kirtikar and Ms Madhvi Bhuta particularly praised the Modi Government’s unique women’s empowerment programmes like Mission Mangalam by Sakhi Mandals to fight malnutrition. They also praised Gujarat’s visibly apt water management in handling of drought situation in Saurashtra and Kutch region vis-à-vis that in Maharashtra.
Mr. Modi said that even as BJP Mohila Morcha had established its identity there is a lot of scope for women to work in public life and in social service.
