भारतीय विचार चैतन्यमय आणि वैविध्यपूर्ण असल्याचे प्रतिपादन पंतप्रधान नरेंद्र मोदी यांनी केले आहे. ते आज आयआयएम कोझिकोडे येथे आयोजित “ग्लोबलाइझिंग इंडियन थॉट” या आंतरराष्ट्रीय परिषदेला व्हिडिओ कॉन्फरन्सिंगद्वारे संबोधित करत होते. स्वामी विवेकानंद यांच्या पुतळ्याचे अनावरणही पंतप्रधानांनी केले.
सलोखा आणि शांती यामुळे आपली संस्कृती बहरली आणि टिकून राहिली. शतकानुशतकांपासून आपल्या भूमीने जगाचे स्वागत केले आहे. वैविध्य असूनही समुदाय येथे शांततेत नांदले आहेत असे पंतप्रधानांनी सांगितले.
निसर्ग आणि पर्यावरणासोबत सलोखा हा देखील भारतीय विचारांच्या केंद्रस्थानी असून त्यासाठी आंतरराष्ट्रीय सौर आघाडीसारखी पावलं ही भारताने उचलली आहेत. जगातील एक तृतीयांश वाघ भारतात राहतात. भारतातील वन आच्छादित क्षेत्रातही वाढ होत असल्याचे त्यांनी सांगितले. स्त्रियांची प्रतिष्ठा जपण्यासाठी राजा राममोहन रॉय, ईश्वरचंद विद्यासागर, महात्मा फुले आणि सावित्रीबाई फुले यांनी केलेल्या कामांचा पंतप्रधानांनी उल्लेख केला. पाश्चिमात्य देशांनी स्त्रियांना मतदानाचा अधिकार देताना शतकानुशतक विलंब केला. भारतीय राज्यघटनेने मात्र पहिल्या दिवसापासूनच महिलांना मतदानाचा अधिकार दिला आहे. भारत हा विचारांच्या खुलेपणाचा आदर करणारा देश आहे. मतभिन्नता नैर्सगिक असून त्याचा आदर भारताने केला आहे. भारतीय विचाराने जगाला बरेच काही दिले असून आणखी योगदान देण्याची क्षमता त्यात आहे. जगाला भेडसावणाऱ्या आव्हानांवर मात करण्याची क्षमता त्यात आहे असे पंतप्रधानांनी सांगितले.
