The poor gains the most when we achieve cleanliness and eliminate dirt: PM“स्वच्छ शक्ती – 2017” गांधीनगर येथे महिला सरपंचाच्या परिषदेला पंतप्रधान नरेंद्र मोदी यांनी आज मार्गदर्शन केले.
“स्वच्छ भारत” चळवळीत महत्वपूर्ण योगदान देणाऱ्या सरपंचांचा सन्मान करण्याचा हा कार्यक्रम आहे, असे त्यांनी सांगितले. 2019 मध्ये महात्मा गांधीची 150 वी जयंती आहे. महात्मा गांधींनी राजकीय स्वातंत्र्यापेक्षाही स्वच्छतेला अधिक महत्व दिले असे पंतप्रधानांनी यावेळी सांगितले.
स्वच्छतेबाबत निर्माण झालेली प्रेरणा अशीच टिकवून ठेवावी असे आवाहन त्यांनी यावेळी केले. स्वच्छता ही सवय झाली पाहिजे, जेव्हा आपण स्वच्छता साध्य करतो आणि घाणीचा समूळ नायनाट करतो तेव्हा त्याचा फायदा गरीबाला अधिक होतो, असे पंतप्रधान म्हणाले.
आज सन्मान होत असलेल्या महिलांनी अनेक कपोलकल्पित गोष्टींना छेद दिला आहे आणि ग्रामीण भागात कशाप्रकारे सकारात्मक बदल घडला आहे ते दाखवून दिले आहे, असे कौतुक पंतप्रधानांनी केले.
जेव्हा आपण महिला सरपंचाना भेटलो तेव्हा सकारात्मक बदल घडवून आणण्याचा त्याचा दृढ निश्चिय दिसून आला असे पंतप्रधानांनी सांगितले.
“बेटी बचाओ, बेटी पढाओ” या उपक्रमाबाबत बोलतांना ते म्हणाले की, स्त्रीभ्रूण हत्या रोखण्यासाठी महिला सरपंच महत्वाची भूमिका बजावू शकतात.
भेदभावाची मनोवृत्ती आता चालणार नाही. मुलगा आणि मुलगी दोघांनाही शिक्षणाच्या समान संधी मिळाल्या पाहिजेत, असे पंतप्रधानांनी सांगितले.
तंत्रज्ञानाच्या संकल्पनेबाबत पंतप्रधान म्हणाले की, यामुळे गावात अमूलाग्र बदल घडवता येऊ शकतो.
पुरस्कार विजेत्यांचे अभिनंदन करताना पंतप्रधानांनी सांगितले की ते, संपूर्ण देशासाठी प्रेरणस्रोत आहेत.
