On March 9th, 2024, Pune hosted a gathering of distinguished individuals at the prestigious Bhandarkar Oriental Research Institute for the Viksit Bharat Ambassador Viksit Pune Conclave. The event witnessed a remarkable turnout of over 1,000 attendees, including students, leading professionals, and prominent figures from Pune's business landscape.

The conclave was honoured with the presence of Sh. Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra. He shared valuable insights on India's path towards Viksit Bharat by 2047 during his speech. Sh. Fadnavis emphasized Maharashtra's crucial role in this transformative journey, highlighting the state's commitment to driving progress and innovation.

Over 1,000 attendees, including students, professionals, entrepreneurs, and notable personalities such as Dr Abhey Firodia, Kumar Gera, Mr Rajendra Bathia, Prashant Sutar, SK Jain, Pradeep Bhargav, and Dina Holkar, participated in the event and pledged to amplify the message of 'Viksit Bharat'.

Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis addressed the people on the journey towards 'Viksit Bharat, Viksit Maharashtra'. The Pune Conclave focused on discussing in detail the achievements, schemes, and development works of PM Narendra Modi during his tenure, which was dedicated to the development, service, good governance, and the welfare of the poor. 

Sh. Fadnavis emphasized that India has made significant progress in the last ten years, transitioning from being among the Fragile 5 to securing a position among the top five economies globally. He added that India's target to achieve developed nation status by 2047 can be fulfilled through a combination of mission, vision, and determination during Amrit Kaal.

Senior Advocate S K Jain commended Prime Minister Modi for elevating India to a status it hadn't enjoyed for quite some time. He emphasized the importance of continuously reminding people of this achievement. Jain extended his best wishes to the Ambassadors of Viksit Bharat.

Sonam Kapse, the owner of India Millet Group and Terrasinne Food Crop, expressed her views on the country's rapid pace of innovation, research, and development. She believes that India is moving swiftly towards embracing new opportunities that have not been witnessed in recent decades.

Ayush Amborkar, a Viksit Bharat Ambassador from COEP College in Pune, expressed his perspective on the ongoing development across various sectors in the nation. He noted that progress in healthcare, finance, and education has been consistently observed.

The leaders also welcome progress in other areas of bilateral cooperation including defence, sports, education and people-to-people ties

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi held a telephone conversation with the Prime Minister of New Zealand, The Rt. Hon. Christopher Luxon today. The two leaders jointly announced the successful conclusion of the historic, ambitious and mutually beneficial India–New Zealand Free Trade Agreement (FTA).

With negotiations having been Initiated during PM Luxon’s visit to India in March 2025, the two leaders agreed that the conclusion of the FTA in a record time of 9 months reflects the shared ambition and political will to further deepen ties between the two countries. The FTA would significantly deepen bilateral economic engagement, enhance market access, promote investment flows, strengthen strategic cooperation between the two countries, and also open up new opportunities for innovators, entrepreneurs, farmers, MSMEs, students and youth of both countries across various sectors.

With the strong and credible foundation provided by the FTA, both leaders expressed confidence in doubling bilateral trade over the next five years as well as an investment of USD 20 billion in India from New Zealand over the next 15 years. The leaders also welcomed the progress achieved in other areas of bilateral cooperation such as sports, education, and people-to-people ties, and reaffirmed their commitment towards further strengthening of the India-New Zealand partnership.
