Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today extended cooperation to set up a special Taiwan Industrial Park near Ahmedabad, in a time-bound manner.

Welcoming an 80-strong high-level business delegation from Taiwan here, he exuded confidence the cooperation between Gujarat and Taiwan will help research and development in the manufacturing sector for the global market. It could be in the areas of technical education and skill development, too.

He said that Gujarat could be the best destination for Taiwan, the state offering huge scope in value addition for chemicals, petrochemicals, besides, electronics, telecommunications, biotechnology and genomics, machine tools, clean and green energy, solar power and solar power equipment, renewable energy and ship-building.

Impressed by the delegation’s gesture, Mr. Modi said: “Taiwan and Gujarat are made for each other.

The biggest-ever Taiwanese delegation to India, led by their Economic Planning Minister Dr Christina Y. Liu, also expressed desire to bond a long-term cooperation. The Minister said one of the biggest similarities between Gujarat and Taiwan is that both are the gateways to their respective mainland and both are exploring the African and European markets.

In the interactive session with the delegation, Mr. Modi described how pro-people proactive policy-driven good governance in Gujarat has become a mass movement.

Others present during the meeting included Minister of State for Finance and Industries Sarabh Patel, Chief Secretary A.K. Joti, Additional Chief Secretary Ravi Saxena, among others.

Announces ex-gratia from PMNRF

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has condoled the loss of lives due to a mishap in Chitradurga district of Karnataka. Shri Modi also wished speedy recovery for those injured in the mishap.

The Prime Minister announced an ex-gratia from PMNRF of Rs. 2 lakh to the next of kin of each deceased and Rs. 50,000 for those injured.

The Prime Minister posted on X:

“Deeply saddened by the loss of lives due to a mishap in the Chitradurga district of Karnataka. Condolences to those who have lost their loved ones. May those injured recover at the earliest.
