PM Modi urges people to encourage digital transactions, says BHIM app can transform the way transactions are done

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today addressed a public meeting at the historic Ridge Maidan in Shimla. Calling Himachal Pradesh the land of a Dev Bhoomi as well as Veer Bhoomi, the PM saluted the brave hearts of the state and paid respects to their families.

At the event, PM Modi spoke about the tourism potential of the state. He said that the Central Government was giving impetus to infrastructure. “Be it roads, railways or airways, we want this region to grow.”

Expounding about air connectivity and UDAN scheme, the PM said, “Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities are becoming growth engines. Today airways have got a big boost in Himachal Pradesh.”

The PM remarked, “After Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Delhi, now Himachal Pradesh awaits Imandari Ka Yug.” He said that the Government would continue to undertake steps to curb corruption. “We will continue taking steps to curb corruption. Those who have looted the poor will not be spared.”

Shri Modi shed light on several Central Government schemes like the Mudra Yojana and Ujjwala Yojana. He said, “We keep the aspirations of poor and youth in mind while formulating every policy. Every section of the society must grow.” He added that youth must get jobs, children must have access to good education, elderly must get affordable healthcare. PM Modi also talked about the scheme for the farmers’ welfare and making healthcare affordable for every Indian.

PM Modi also urged people, particularly youth to undertake more digital transactions. “I urge everyone to undertake less cash and encourage more digital transactions. BHIM app can transform the way we transact”, the PM stated.

Attacking the previous UPA government, Shri Modi remarked, “The previous government made mockery of One Rank, One Pension. We implemented it after coming to power & several ex-servicemen have benefitted.”

Several party leaders and karyakartas were present at the event.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi received a delegation of Foreign Ministers of Arab countries, Secretary General of the League of Arab States and Heads of Arab delegations, who are in India for the second India-Arab Foreign Ministers’ Meeting.

Prime Minister highlighted the deep and historic people-to-people ties between India and the Arab world which have continued to inspire and strengthen our relations over the years.

Prime Minister outlined his vision for the India-Arab partnership in the years ahead and reaffirms India’s commitment to further deepen cooperation in trade and investment, energy, technology, healthcare and other priority areas, for the mutual benefit of our peoples.
