Energy Minister of Karnataka meets the C.M: Gujarat Government to offer Technical cooperation for the project

Energy Minister of Karnataka State Shri K.S.Ishwarppa met Chief Minister Shri Narendrabahi Modi today; the high level delegation of Karnataka was stunned to witness the major achievements of Jyotigram Yojana. He expressed his keen desire to replicate the model of Jyotigram for 20000 villages of Karnataka.

After undertaking a detail study of Jyotigram Scheme, Shri Ishwarppa expressed his desire to presage the 24 hours flow of 3 phase electricity supply under the Nirantar Jyoti scheme, he also sought the cooperation in terms of technical know how from the C.M.

Minister of State for Energy Shri Saurabhbhai Patel, Principal Secretary –Energy Shri Jagdishan, Principal Secretary to C.M. Shri K.Kailashnathan were also present.

The high level delegation toured the rural areas of Gujarat to seek grass root feedback, and found that people are happy with the accomplishments and outcomes of the schemes, 24 hours 3 phase electricity supply, roads. Drinking water supply has benefited the masses. He conveyed the feeling of satisfaction of the people to the C.M.

Gujarat and Karnataka are the states facing deficit of electricity, Gujarat has set a time frame for Electricity Management. The Broadband connectivity and uninterrupted electricity supply has remained instrumental in rural development, the delegation took keen interest in this regard.

Chief Minister highlighted the blue revolution, which has taken place through PPP initiatives. The farmer needs water for agriculture, not the electricity supply. Thrust is given for Drip Irrigation. Water tables have come up. Karnataka and Gujarat may cooperate in establishing power plants and electricity distribution and its management.

Prime Minister meets President of the United Arab Emirates on the sidelines of the G7 Summit

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today met with the President of the United Arab Emirates, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on the sidelines of the G7 Summit in Evian, France. This was the third meeting between the two leaders in 2026, reflecting the strong and vibrant India-UAE Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

The two leaders reviewed the progress and positive developments in bilateral cooperation, including in the areas of technology, trade, investment, energy, and defence flowing from the visits of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan to India in January 2026 and that of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to the UAE in May 2026. The two leaders also exchanged views on regional and global developments of mutual interest.

Prime Minister underscored the importance of dialogue, diplomacy, and respect for international law, sovereignty, and territorial integrity in advancing enduring peace, security, and stability in the West Asia region. The two sides called for continued free, safe, and unimpeded navigation, trade and commerce through the Strait of Hormuz.

Prime Minister conveyed his invitation to President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to attend the BRICS Summit to be hosted by India later this year.
