Japan's Hyogo province Governor Mr. Tishizo Ido and a business delegation from the Kobe province of Japan today paid a courtesy visit to Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi and opined that Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors' Summit, being held by Government of Gujarat, has broaden and strengthen the relationship between Gujarat and Japan.
Mr. Ido informed that Kobe has a large Gujarati population and discussed with the Chief Minister on the possibilities of them being partner in Gujarat's growth.
Chief Minister pointed out that about 40% part of Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor, a joint project between India and Japan, stands on the land of Gujarat. Shri Modi invited him to join forthcoming VGGIS-2011, where 80 countries are taking part and Japan and Canada being country partners.
Chief Minister suggested that partnership between Gujarat and Japan can also be flourished in the fields of education and culture as Buddhism also has its marks in Gujarat. This can be done through student exchange program, he suggested.
Mr. Ido praised the growth oriented leadership of Shri Nrendra Modi and welcomed the initiatives taken by Gujarat Chief Minister to tackle the issue of climate change.
Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Shri K.Kailasnathan, Principal Secretary for Industries Shri M.Shahu and Information Commissioner Shri V.Thiruppugazh was also present on the occasion.
