Gujarat welcomes 'Vivek Express' - the moving tribute to Swami Vivekananda!

‘Vivek Express’ an exhibition train, being run by Indian Railways, to commemorate 150th Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda , has arrived on Western Railway at Valsad on 18th August, 2011. The train shall be stationed at Valsad till 21st August, 2011 and remain open for public viewing from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm on these days.

To commemorate Swami Vivekananda‘s 150th Birth Anniversary and to showcase his life and philosophy , Indian Railway has run this exhibition train which was inaugurated Mamata Banerjee , the then Minister for Railways .

The train will be available for public at various stations as –

Prime Minister condoles the loss of lives in a fire mishap in Indore, Madhya Pradesh

The Prime Minister has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic fire incident in Indore and has announced ex-gratia for the affected families.

Expressing deep pain over the loss of lives in the Indore fire mishap, the Prime Minister extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured. Shri Modi further announced that an ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh from PMNRF would be given to the next of kin of each deceased, while the injured would be provided Rs. 50,000.

The Prime Minister wrote on X;

"Deeply pained by the loss of lives in a fire mishap in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Condolences to those who have lost their loved ones. I pray for the speedy recovery of the injured.
