Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi while inaugurating a national seminar on Industrial Security at Ahmedabad, emphasized upon the need of a well-thought and an all-round strategy to tackle the security issues. He also advocated for a security network that is made under Public Private Partnership between industries and government.
It is for the first time that Gujarat State Police Housing Corporation has arranged a national seminar that covers all the aspects of industrial security. The seminar saw a participation of delegates from 600-odd industries, public sector companies and security agencies. Chief Minister also inaugurated a mega-exhibition on industrial security. Minister of State for Home Shri Praful Patel was also present on the occasion.
Chief Minister said that there is need to focus on the newer aspects of security and latest technology should be incorporated to deal with these issues. He especially emphasized upon a need for a security strategy against terrorism and said that even a small mistake in this regard can cause a big trouble.
Chief Minister said that monetary expenses should not be taken as a yardstick to evaluate security setups. He gave example of how government of Gujarat successfully implemented a security system under Public Private Partnership to stop the oil theft in ONGC. If the services of police and defense professionals become even more alert and sharp, it will create a major impact, he said.
Chief Minister also put stress upon the conjunction of high-tech equipments with the trained manpower. He appealed to take help of highly trained manpower of the Raksha Shakti University. Today, when security services sector is emerging as a separate industry, an all-round strategy for industrial security has become essential, he said.
Director General of Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) Shri N.R.Das, President of Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industries Shri Chintan Parikh, CII President Shri Yatindra Sharma and other speakers, on the occasion, praised Gujarat government’s proactive approach towards industrial security.
