ಪ್ರಧಾನಮಂತ್ರಿ ಶ್ರೀ ನರೇಂದ್ರ ಮೋದಿ ಅವರಿಂದು ಪಾಟ್ನಾ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ ಶತಮಾನೋತ್ಸವ ಸಮಾರಂಭ ಉದ್ದೇಶಿಸಿ ಭಾಷಣ ಮಾಡಿದರು. ಪಾಟ್ನಾ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಭೇಟಿ ನೀಡಿದ್ದು ಮತ್ತು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಇರುವುದು ತಮ್ಮ ಸೌಭಾಗ್ಯ ಎಂದು ಪರಿಗಣಿಸುವುದಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಿದರು. “ನಾನು ಬಿಹಾರದ ಭೂಮಿಗೆ ನಮಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ. ಈ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯವು ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಮಹತ್ತರ ಕೊಡುಗೆ ನೀಡಿದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳನ್ನು ಬೆಳೆಸಿದೆ,” ಎಂದು ಪ್ರಧಾನಿ ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.
ಪಾಟ್ನಾ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾನಿಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಧ್ಯಯನ ಮಾಡಿದ ಅನೇಕರು ನಾಗರಿಕ ಸೇವೆಗಳ ಉನ್ನತ ಹುದ್ದೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುವುದನ್ನು ರಾಜ್ಯಗಳಾದ್ಯಂತ ಗಮನಿಸಿರುವುದಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಧಾನಿ ಹೇಳಿದರು. “ದೆಹಲಿಯಲ್ಲಿ, ನಾನು ಹಲವು ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಂವಾದ ನಡೆಸಿದ್ದೇನೆ, ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಅನೇಕರು ಬಿಹಾರದವರು” ಎಂದು ಪ್ರಧಾನಿ ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಪ್ರಗತಿಯ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿಹಾರದ ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿ ಶ್ರೀ ನಿತೀಶ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಅವರ ಬದ್ಧತೆ ಶ್ಲಾಘನಾರ್ಹವಾದ್ದು ಎಂದು ಶ್ರೀ ನರೇಂದ್ರ ಮೋದಿ ಹೇಳಿದರು. ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಪೂರ್ವ ಭಾರತದ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಥಮ ಆದ್ಯತೆ ಮಹತ್ವ ನೀಡಿದೆ ಎಂದೂ ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.
ಬಿಹಾರ ಜ್ಞಾನ ಮತ್ತು ಗಂಗೆ ಎರಡರಿಂದಲೂ ಹರಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಪ್ರಧಾನಿ ಹೇಳಿದರು.ಈ ನೆಲ ಅನನ್ಯತೆಯ ಪರಂಪರೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದೆ ಎಂದೂ ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು. ನಮ್ಮ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯಗಳು ಸಾಂಪ್ರದಾಯಿಕ ಬೋಧನೆಯಿಂದ ನಾವಿನ್ಯಪೂರ್ಣ ಕಲಿಕೆಯತ್ತ ಸಾಗುವ ಅಗತ್ಯವಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಪ್ರತಿಪಾದಿಸಿದರು.
ಜಾಗತೀಕರಣದ ಯುಗದಲ್ಲಿ ನಾವು ಜಗತ್ತಿನಾದ್ಯಂತ ಬದಲಾಗುತ್ತಿರುವ ಪ್ರವೃತ್ತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸ್ಪರ್ಧಾತ್ಮಕತೆಯ ಸ್ಫೂರ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಅರ್ಥಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕಾದ ಅಗತ್ಯವಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಹೇಳಿದರು. ಈ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾರತ ವಿಶ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ತನ್ನ ಸ್ಥಾನ ಕಂಡುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು ಎಂದರು.
ಜನರು ಎದುರಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳಿಗೆ ನಾವಿನ್ಯಪೂರ್ಮ ಪರಿಹಾರ ದೊರಕಿಸುವ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಚಿಂತಿಸುವಂತೆ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಕರೆ ನೀಡಿದರು. ತಾವು ಕಲಿತಿದ್ದನ್ನು ಬಳಸುವ ಮೂಲಕ, ನವೋದ್ಯಮ ವಲಯದ ಮೂಲಕ ನೀವು ಸಮಾಜಕ್ಕೆ ಸಾಕಷ್ಟು ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಬಹುದು ಎಂದರು.
ಪಾಟ್ನಾ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದಿಂದ ವಿಮಾನ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣಕ್ಕೆ ಮರಳುವ ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಧಾನಮಂತ್ರಿ, ಬಿಹಾರದ ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿ ಮತ್ತು ಇತರ ಗಣ್ಯರು, ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಶ್ರೀಮಂತ ಇತಿಹಾಸ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರದರ್ಶನಕ್ಕಿಟ್ಟಿರುವ ಬಿಹಾರ ವಸ್ತುಸಂಗ್ರಹಾಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಭೇಟಿ ನೀಡಿದರು.
