Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with millions of booth level workers and volunteers across the country through video conferencing today. The interaction called the ‘Mahasamvad’ was held at 15,000 locations across the country as a part of the BJP’s public outreach campaign ‘Mera Booth, Sabse Mazboot.’

Responding to questions by workers on their electoral strategy for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, PM Modi urged the karyakartas to reach out to all the sections of society and create awareness about the major initiatives and achievements of the BJP government. He further added, “One of the ways to do this is through the ‘Bharat Ke Mann Ki Baat’ initiative of the BJP through which every Indian can give his suggestions for the BJP in 2019 elections and those suggestions will reach the top levels of the party including me. In a way, we have democratized our public outreach so that our ‘Sankalp Patra’ for the 2019 elections includes the voices and issues across the country.”

Describing the vision of the BJP for the future, PM Modi said that while the period from 2014 until now has been about ensuring the list mile delivery of basic necessities and services to everyone and bringing about social justice in society, the period starting 2019 will be about fulfilling the aspirations and ambitions of a growing country. In this context, he said, “The period from 2014-2019 was about bringing India out of the ‘Fragile Five’ economies to the fastest growing major economy of the world while the period from 2019 will be about striving to become one of the top five economies of the world.”

When asked about the difference in the political cultures of the BJP and Congress and the significance it holds for Indian democracy during the upcoming general elections, Prime Minister Modi said, “The 2019 Lok Sabha elections are not about BJP or Congress, they are about the different political cultures of both the parties. On one hand is the BJP which has democratic-ness at the heart of its political culture and on the other side are several Opposition parties including the Congress in which everything happens keeping the dynastic interests of the leaders in their minds. Our party derives its strength from its cadres and hardworking workers unlike parties like the Congress who derive their strengths from a certain person/family. This fundamental difference will be a decisive factor in ensuring that our cadre-driven party emerges victorious in the 2019 elections.”

Prime Minister Modi highlighted his views and provided valuable suggestions to the party karyakartas on a wide range of crucial issues such as the significance of social media for the electoral campaign as well as the party’s prospects in South India while continuously urging his karyakartas, supporters and volunteers to reach out to as many people as possible and aware them about the government’s transformative initiatives and schemes to ensure that the message of the party reaches to every Indian.

Designed for operating speeds of 80–100 kmph, the corridor will reduce travel time between Kanpur and Kabrai from 3.5 hours to 1.5 hours (58%), while improving road safety, reducing vehicle operating costs and facilitating efficient movement of passenger and freight traffic. The project will also provide strategic connectivity with NH-34, NH-35, the Bundelkhand Expressway, Kanpur Ring Road, and State Highways SH-46, SH-91, SH-10B and SH-42, thereby strengthening integration with the regional highway network. The corridor further strengthen connectivity to the Kabrai mining belt, improving the movement of minerals, industrial goods, construction materials and agricultural produce, thereby enhancing logistics efficiency, supply chain resilience and regional economic development.

Aligned with the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan, the project will improve connectivity to 16 Economic Nodes, including the Unnao, Banther, Pankhi, Rania, Jainpur, Rooma, Chakeri, Sumerpur and Bhuragarh Industrial Areas, Trans Ganga Integrated Township, Growth Centre Jaipur, Kanpur Nagar Node and Bengal Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd. It will also strengthen connectivity to 9 Social Nodes, namely Fatehpur, Mahoba, Kanpur Zoological Park, Buddha Park, J.K. Overall, improve logistics competitiveness, industrial development and economic growth across Bundelkhand and adjoining regions of Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, while advancing the objectives of PM GatiShakti.

The project is expected to generate approximately 11,188 direct and 13,985 indirect person-days of employment per lane per km during construction and is projected to carry an Annual Average Daily Traffic (AADT) of about 18,069 Passenger Car Units (PCUs) by FY 2028, underscoring its long-term economic, logistics and transport significance.
