பிரதமர் திரு.நரேந்திர மோடி, ரவான்டா, கிகாலியில், இந்தியா உட்பட, 197 நாடுகள், தட்பவெட்ப சூழ்நிலையை மாற்றக்கூடிய ஹைட்ரோப்ளோராகார்பன்களை தடை செய்யும் இலக்குடன், கிகாலி ஒப்பந்தத்தில் கையெழுத்திட்டுள்ளதை வரவேற்றுள்ளார்.
“நமது பூமியில் பெரும் தாக்கத்தை ஏற்படுத்தும் வகையில், இன்று காலை வரலாற்று சிறப்புமிக்க கிகாலி ஒப்பந்தம் ஏற்பட்டுள்ளது,
இந்த நூற்றாண்டின் முடிவில் உலக தட்பவெட்பத்தில் 0.5 டிகிரி குறைவதற்கு இந்த ஒப்பந்தம் வகை செய்வதுடன், பாரீஸில் ஏற்படுத்தப்பட்ட இலக்கினை நாம் அடைய உதவும்.
இந்தியா மற்றும் பிற நாடுகளின் விட்டுக்கொடுத்தல் மற்றும் ஒத்துழைப்பு ஆகியவை, இந்த பொதுவான, சரிநிகரான மற்றும் இலக்கான எச்.எப்.சி. ஒப்பந்தத்தை உருவாக்கியுள்ளது.
இது இந்தியா போன்ற நாடுகள் குறைந்த அளவு கார்பன்கள் கொண்ட தொழில்நுட்பத்தை அணுகுவதற்கும், உருவாக்குதற்குமான செயல்பாட்டை அளிக்கும்.
பசுமையான பூமிக்கு பங்களிக்கும் வகையில், இந்த முக்கிய பிரச்சினையில் ஒருங்கிணைந்ததற்காக அனைத்து நாடுகளையும் நான் பாராட்டுகிறேன்”, என பிரதமர் தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.
