In his remarks after the Union Budget was tabled in the Lok Sabha, the Prime Minister said that the Budget is” full of opportunities for more Infrastructure, more Investment, more growth, and more jobs.” This will further open the green job sector. This Budget not only solves the contemporary problems but also ensures bright future for the youth, he added.

The Prime Minister stressed that welfare of the poor is one of the most important aspect of this Budget. The Budget aims to ensure pucca house, toilet, tap water and gas connection for every poor household. At the same time focus is on modern Internet connectivity also.

Women's reservation bill no ordinary law, it is announcement of new India's new democratic commitment: PM Modi on Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam

Addressing the Nari Shakti Vandan-Abhinandan Karyakram at BJP Headquarters, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed the unanimous passage of the women reservation bill, titled "Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam," as a historic moment and congratulated fellow citizens. He said, “A special moment for the nation, a special day for BJP karyakartas. Women's confidence soars, as mothers, sisters, and daughters across the country celebrate today."

PM Modi emphasized that the Nari Shakti Vandan Act goes beyond an ordinary law; it symbolizes the renewed democratic commitment of emerging India. This significant stride, he remarked, aligns with our collective efforts during the Amrit Kaal to advance a prosperous India. He added that this is a concrete testament to his commitment to usher in a new era of women-led development, aiming to enhance women's living standards and overall quality of life.

In a strong response to the opposition, Prime Minister Modi stated, "The BJP tirelessly pursued this law for women's active participation in democracy over three decades. It was a solemn commitment we made, and we've now fulfilled it. Despite numerous long-standing obstacles along the way, including decades-old challenges, our unwavering dedication and transparent efforts have yielded results. It's a remarkable achievement that this law garnered such broad support in the House."

Highlighting various initiatives undertaken by his government to empower women, PM Modi expressed, "Our government has continually introduced schemes and launched programs to enhance the lives of our sisters, granting them respect, convenience, security, and prosperity, to ensure that pregnant women receive nutritious food, we initiated the Matru Vandana Yojana, depositing funds directly into women's bank accounts."

He continued by stating, "In order to support our daughters' education, we have increased the interest rate in the Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana. We provided Ujjwala gas connections to eliminate the hardship of cooking. Also, to alleviate the burden of fetching water, we initiated a scheme to supply piped water to every household."

“To ensure that our daughters do not have to live in darkness, we gave free electricity connection through Saubhagya Yojana. We also provided them free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh through Ayushman Bharat. To ensure that daughters have rights over the property of the house, we have given PM Awas Yojana homes in their names. This year, from the Red Fort, I have also announced the plan to create 2 crore Lakhpati Didis in the country and to provide drones to the women of self-help groups,” he added.

PM Modi acknowledged, "Efforts for women's reservation spanned decades, but who made it a reality? Not Modi, but you, the crores of people who formed a stable government with an absolute majority."

Talking on the importance of the stable government, PM Modi asserted, "The enactment of the Nari Shakti Vandan Act in both Houses reflects the capacity of a stable, majority government to make significant decisions and achieve big milestones. When a government with full majority came to power in the country, such a big decision was taken.”

He continued, "We prioritized decisions in the best interest of women at every level, preventing political interests from obstructing women's reservation. In the past, this bill often encountered uproar whenever it was introduced in Parliament."

PM Modi recounted instances where women's leadership and their capabilities yielded tangible outcomes. He cited the example of the Samras Gram Panchayat in Gujarat, where women leaders drove positive change within the village. "You can witness this inclination for positive transformation and a vision for resource optimization among women everywhere," he remarked. Additionally, he mentioned an event in Shahdol, Madhya Pradesh, where he met tribal women who became lakhpati didis.

PM Modi said, “Today, from Parivar (family) to Panchayat, from economy to education and entrepreneurship, our sisters and daughters are doing unprecedented work in every field. Women have played a huge role in taking India to the moon.”

In the end, PM Modi stated, "The inauguration of a new and modern Parliament building, along with increased representation of half the population within it, will pave the way for fresh arrangements. I have faith that the women power of our nation will also establish novel and constructive parliamentary traditions."
