Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi dedicated to the Nation various Railway projects in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, today. He dedicated to the nation the redeveloped Rani Kamalapati Railway Station in Bhopal. The Prime Minister also dedicated to the nation many other initiatives of the Railways in Madhya Pradesh including Gauge Converted and Electrified Ujjain-Fatehabad Chandrawatiganj Broad Gauge section, Third line in Bhopal-Barkhera section, Gauge Converted and Electrified Mathela-Nimar Kheri Broad Gauge section and Electrified Guna-Gwalior section. The Prime Minister also flagged off two new MEMU trains between Ujjain-Indore and Indore-Ujjain. Governor and Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh and Union Railway Minister were among those present on the occasion.

Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister said not only has the historical railway station of Bhopal been rejuvenated, but its importance got enhanced with the addition of the name of Rani  Kamalapati ji. Today the pride of Indian Railways has also been added to the pride of Gondwana. The Prime Minister termed the dedication of modern railway projects as a confluence of glorious history and prosperous modern future. He also greeted the people on the Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas. These projects will benefit the people of Madhya Pradesh, he said.

The Prime Minister said that Indian Railways is an example of how India is changing, how dreams can come true. “Till 6-7 years ago, whoever had to deal with the Indian Railways, ended up cursing the Indian Railways. People had given up any hope of changing the situation. But when the country sincerely mobilizes for the fulfillment of its resolutions, then improvement comes and change happens, this we have been seeing continuously since the past years” remarked the Prime Minister.

The Prime Minister said today the country's first ISO certified,  first PPP model based railway station, i.e Rani Kamalapati Railway Station has been dedicated to the nation. The facilities which were once available at the airport are now available at the railway station.

The Prime Minister said today's India is not only making record investments for the construction of modern infrastructure, it is also ensuring that projects are not delayed and  there is no obstacle. He added that the PM Gatishakti National Master Plan, started recently, will help the country in fulfilling this resolution. The Prime Minister said there was a time when even railway infrastructure projects took years together to get off the ground from the drawing board. But today Indian Railways is displaying urgency in planning new projects and more importantly, it completes them on time.

The Prime Minister said Indian Railways is not only a medium to connect distances, but it is also becoming an important medium to connect the country's culture, country's tourism and pilgrimage. For the first time after so many decades of independence, this potential of Indian Railways is being explored on such a large scale. Earlier, even if the railway was used for tourism, it was confined to a premium club. For the first time, the common man is being given the spiritual experience of tourism and pilgrimage at a reasonable price. Ramayan circuit train is one such innovative effort.

He complimented the Railways for accepting and taking up the challenge of change.

PM Modi’s departure statement ahead of his visit to France and Slovak Republic
June 13, 2026

At the invitation of H.E. Mr. Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic and H.E. Mr. Robert Fico, Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic, I will be undertaking a visit to France and the Slovak Republic from 13 to 18 June 2026.

France occupies a special place in India’s strategic vision. Earlier this year, President Macron visited India and we elevated our relationship to a Special Global Strategic Partnership. When I meet President Macron in Nice, we will review the progress made since February, and chart the next steps in our cooperation. I look forward to our discussions on pressing global issues of mutual interest as well.

In Nice, I also eagerly look forward to inaugurating ‘Bharat Innovates’ along with President Macron on 14 June 2026. This landmark event, being held against the backdrop of the India-France Year of Innovation, will connect India’s most promising start-ups with global investment and serve as a major accelerator for innovations emerging from India's higher education ecosystem.

From Nice, I will travel to the Slovak Republic for a State Visit from 14-15 June 2026, the first ever visit by an Indian Prime Minister since Slovakia’s independence in 1993. This historic visit builds on the strong momentum in our bilateral relationship. I look forward to holding discussions with President Pellegrini and Prime Minister Fico in Bratislava. I will also have the opportunity to interact with Slovak business leaders. Building on the momentum of the India-EU Free Trade Agreement, the visit will further energize our Strategic Partnership with the European Union, of which Slovakia is an important and valued member.

From Slovakia, I will travel to Evian, where I will participate in the G7 Summit on 16 and 17 June 2026. India’s presence at the G7 reflects the trust our partners place in us and our growing global profile. This is the 8th consecutive G7 Summit to which India has been invited. At the G7, India will not only speak for itself, but it will also give voice to the aspirations of the Global South.

I will conclude my visit to France in Paris on 18 June 2026 where I will attend the VivaTech 2026 alongside President Macron. VivaTech is Europe’s foremost gathering of technology and innovation, and India will have the largest national pavilion at this edition, a fitting symbol of the enormous potential for partnership between Indian and European innovation ecosystems. I also look forward to meeting the members of the vibrant Indian community in Paris, who have been a living bridge between our two nations.

I am confident that my visits to France and the Slovak Republic will reinforce India’s deepening engagement with both Europe and the G7, and showcase our steadfast commitment to expanding the horizon of our partnerships with the continent and beyond.
