The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, will visit Karnataka on January 2nd and 3rd, 2016. He will arrive in Mysuru on the afternoon of 2nd January. He will visit the Avadhoota Datta Peetham. He will also attend the Centenary Celebrations of Jagadguru Dr. Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Mahaswamiji of Sri Suttur Math.

On the 3rd January, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the 103rd session of Indian Science Congress at the University of Mysore. He will lay the foundation stone for a new helicopter manufacturing unit at Tumkur. The Prime Minister will inaugurate the 21st International Conference on Frontiers in Yoga Research and its Applications, at Jigni on Sunday.

Both leaders reiterated the importance of keeping shipping lines open and secure in the interest of the whole world.

The two leaders reviewed progress on various initiatives aimed at strengthening India-Sri Lanka energy cooperation and enhancing regional security.

Prime Minister reiterated India’s firm commitment to work closely together in addressing shared challenges in line with India’s Neighbourhood First policy and MAHASAGAR Vision.
