Campaigning in Rajouri and Kathua (Jammu and Kashmir) on Saturday 13th December 2014, Prime Minister affirmed, “I have come here to seek your votes for development. Jammu and Kashmir needs roads, schools, water and hospitals.” Shri Modi made it clear that there is no room for any other agenda, adding that in a democracy, the work of a Government is to work for the well-being of the people and hear their voices.

The Prime Minister expressed his gratitude to the people of Jammu and Kashmir for the remarkable welcome he has received throughout the State. He pointed, “The happiness on your faces is making me happy. Your dreams are coming alive and this is making me happy too. In every part of the State I got to meet several people and I am happy to receive your blessings in such large numbers.”

Shri Modi made a direct appeal to the people of Jammu and Kashmir to shun dynastic politics, saying such politics can never become the voice of the people. He talked about the opportunism of the Congress and their habit of joining coalitions from behind and then betraying them.

āThe Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, today lauded the remarkable achievement of Shri S. Suresh Kumar Ji, who successfully cycled from Bengaluru to Kanniyakumari.

Shri Modi noted that this feat is not only commendable and inspiring but also a testament to Shri Suresh Kumar Ji’s grit and unyielding spirit, especially as it was accomplished after overcoming significant health setbacks.

PM emphasized that such endeavors carry an important message of fitness and determination for society at large.

The Prime Minister personally spoke to Shri Suresh Kumar Ji and congratulated him for his effort, appreciating the courage and perseverance that made this journey possible.
