सेल्वी जे. जयललिता यांच्या निधनाबद्दल पंतप्रधानांनी शोक व्यक्त केला आहे.
“सेल्वी जयललिता यांच्या निधनाने तीव्र दु:ख झाले आहे. त्यांच्या निधनाने भारतीय राजकारणात मोठी पोकळी निर्माण झाली आहे.
जयललिता जी नेहमी नागरिकांसोबत असायच्या, गरिबांच्या कल्याणाची त्या नेहमी चिंता करायच्या.
या दु:खाच्या क्षणी माझ्या भावना तामिळनाडूच्या जनतेसोबत आहेत.
परमेश्वर त्यांना हे कधीही भरुन न येणारे दु:ख सहन करण्याची शक्ती देवो.
जयललिताजीं सोबत संवाद साधण्याच्या अनेक संधी मला मिळाल्या होत्या. ज्या मी माझ्या हृदयात जतन करुन ठेवीन. परमेश्वर त्यांच्या आत्म्याला शांती देवो,” असे पंतप्रधानांनी आपल्या शोक संदेशात म्हटले आहे.
