Addressing a luncheon gathering in Hyogo Prefecture, PM Narendra Modi recalled his associations with the place and visits to Kobe in 2007 and 2012. The PM remarked, “Our relationship is characterized by complete trust & mutual confidence. Thank Governor Ido for valuable efforts 2 develop relations with Gujarat.”

“Greater participation & engagement of industries in Hyogo will benefit Japan & India's MSME sector for which it could prove transformational”, the PM added.

Speaking about the role of Indian community in trade and commerce, the PM said, “Indian community in Kobe has a long history of trade & commerce.  I congratulate all residents of Kobe on forthcoming 150 years of its port.”

PM Modi and PM Abe also witnessed exchange of MoU of cooperation between Gujarat Govt and Hyogo Prefecture.

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has expressed deep sorrow over the death of eminent agriculture scientist, Dr. MS Swaminathan whose "groundbreaking work in agriculture transformed the lives of millions and ensured food security for our nation."
