अफगाणिस्तानचे राष्ट्रपती महामहीम अश्रफ घनी,

बांग्लादेशचे पंतप्रधान महामहीम शेख हसीना,

भूतानचे पंतप्रधान महामहीम शेरिंग टोगे,

मालदीवचे राष्ट्रपती महामहीम अब्दुल्ला यामिन,

नेपाळचे पंतप्रधान महामहीम पुष्पकमल दहल,

श्रीलंकेचे राष्ट्रपती महामहीम मैत्रीपाल सिरिसेना,

स्त्री आणि पुरुष गण,

नमस्कार,

महामहीम,

दक्षिण आशियासाठी आज ऐतिहासिक दिवस आहे. अग्रक्रमाशिवाय दिवस आहे. दक्षिण आशियातील आपल्या बंधु आणि भगिनींच्या विकास आणि समृद्धीसाठी प्रगत अंतराळ तंत्रज्ञान उपलब्ध करुन देण्याचेभारतानेदोन वर्षांपूर्वी वचन दिले होते.

दक्षिण आशिया उपग्रहाच्या यशस्वी प्रक्षेपणाने ते वचन पूर्ण केले आहे. या प्रक्षेपणासह आपल्या भागीदारीच्या अतिशय प्रगत परिसीमा निर्माण करण्याचा प्रवास आपण सुरु केला आहे.

अंतराळात उच्चस्थानिय असलेला हा उपग्रह दक्षिण आशियाई सहकार्याचे प्रतीक असून आपल्या प्रांतातील दीड अब्जहून अधिक लोकांच्या आर्थिक प्रगतीच्या इच्छा आकांक्षा पूर्ण करेल.

महामहीम,

या प्रक्षेपणाच्या यशात सहभागी झाल्याबद्दल मी अफगाणिस्तान, बांग्लादेश, भूतान, नेपाळ, मालदीव आणि श्रीलंकेच्या नेत्यांचे मनापासून आभार मानतो.

तुमच्या सरकारांनी दिलेल्या मजबूत आणि अमूल्य सहकार्याची मी प्रशंसा करतो, त्यांच्या सहकार्याशिवाय हा प्रकल्प पूर्ण होऊ शकला नसता. आपले एकत्र येणे हे आपल्या जनतेच्या गरजांना सर्वोच्च प्राधान्य देण्याच्या निर्धाराचे प्रतिक आहे.

यातून हे दिसून येते की आपल्या नागरिकांसाठी आपले सामूहिक प्रयत्न हे सहकार्यासाठी, विकासासाठी आणि समृद्धीसाठी आपल्याला एकत्र आणतील, संघर्षासाठी, विध्वंसासाठी आणि गरीबीसाठी नव्हे.

महामहीम,

अशा प्रकारचा हा दक्षिण आशियातील पहिलाच प्रकल्प आहे आणि याद्वारे बांग्लादेश, अफगाणिस्तान, भूतान, मालदीव, नेपाळ, श्रीलंका आणि भारत पुढील गोष्टी एकत्रितपणे साध्य करेल :-

दुर्गम भागात उत्तम बँकिंग आणि उत्तम शिक्षण

हवामानाचा अचूक अंदाज आणि प्रभावी संसाधन मॅपिंग

टेलि-मेडिसिनच्या माध्यमातून सर्वोच्च वैद्यकीय सेवांशी लोकांना जोडणे आणि राष्ट्रीय आपत्तीनां जलद प्रतिसाद

अंतराळ तंत्रज्ञान आपल्या प्रांतातील जनतेच्या आयुष्यात उपयोगी पडेल

हा उपग्रह प्रत्येक देशाला त्यांच्या गरजा आणि प्राधान्यानुसार विशिष्ट सेवा पुरवेल त्याचबरोबर सामाईक सेवाही पुरवेल

हे उद्दिष्ट साध्य केल्याबद्दल मी भारतीय अंतराळ विज्ञान समुदायाचे आणि विशेषत: भारतीय अंतराळ संशोधन संस्थेचे (इस्रो) अभिनंदन करतो.

प्रादेशिक गरजांनुसार दक्षिण आशिया उपग्रह विकसित करण्यासाठी इस्रोच्या टीमने पुढाकार घेतला आणि ते यशस्वी करुन दाखवले.

महामहीम,

सरकार म्हणून, आपली जनता आणि समाजासाठी सुरक्षित विकास, वृद्धी आणि शांतता प्रस्थापित करणे हे आपले महत्वाचे काम आहे. आणि मला खात्री आहे की, जेव्हा आपण एकत्र येतो आणि ज्ञान, तंत्रज्ञान आणि विकासाची फळे परस्परांमध्ये वाटून घेतो. तेंव्हा आपण आपला विकास आणि समृद्धीला गती देऊ शकतो.

तुम्ही सर्व उपस्थित राहिल्याबद्दल मी तुमचे आभार मानतो आणि आपल्या सामूहिक यशासाठी पुन्हा एकदा तुमचे अभिनंदन करतो.
