Prime Minister Narendra Modi today addressed two huge public meeting in Chhatarpur and Mandsaur in Madhya Pradesh in a series of similar rallies previously organised in the poll-bound state of Madhya Pradesh.

Prime Minister Modi began his address to people in Chhatarpur by applauding the people of Madhya Pradesh for the growing enthusiasm for the BJP as the voting day approaches. He also described how the region of Bundelkhand has witnessed rapid progress in the last 15 years of government led by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. PM Modi contrasted this with the condition of Madhya Pradesh 15 years ago under the Congress-led governments, who made Madhya Pradesh a 'BIMARU' state with their poor governance and corrupt activities. He asked the people of Madhya Pradesh to reject the negative politics of Congress and not let the Congress party come back to power again in the state.

The public meeting saw PM Modi later heavily criticizing the Congress for making the recent derogatory comments against his mother. He said, "The Congress does not have the courage to confront Modi and now they are abusing Modi's mother. Such low level of politics is absolutely unacceptable to the people of my country." In this context, he urged the voters to keep these instances in mind while voting and not let people of such cheap politics gain power in Madhya Pradesh. He said these kinds of statements reflect the lack of issues that Congress has against the BJP government here in Madhya Pradesh. "Because they don't have any issues to confront Shivraj ji's government, they are resorting to such low standards of politics," he said.

The meeting concluded with Prime Minister Modi listing out several key initiatives of the state and Central government which will not only have major impacts on the empowerment of the poor but also will provide success stories for the world to take inspiration from in terms of how India is rapidly progressing with transparent execution of government initiatives and strong political leadership.

At Mandsaur, PM Modi began by remebering the huge contribution of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel for the welfare of farmers in the country. He said that the BJP government in Madhya Pradesh headed by CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan takes inspiration from the vision of Sardar Patel to empower the lives of our farmers. He said the people of the state could themselves see the rapid strides Madhya Pradesh has made in the agriculture sector under the Shivraj government.

He further described the major transformative initiatives of the BJP governments in Centre and in Madhya Pradesh that will empower the lives of people in the long run. He later criticised the Congress governments for not coming up with such initiatives and rather ignoring the plight of the people in favour of their own vested interests. He said, “Congress manufactures and spreads lies. Smt. Indira Gandhi Ji gave the slogan of 'Garibi Hatao' but were they able to eliminate poverty? They nationalised banks and said the poor would benefit from it, but what happened? So many people did not even have accounts.”

Lastly, he urged the people to turn out on the voting day in large numbers and give the BJP a resounding victory in the upcoming Assembly elections.
