Prime Minister Designate Shri Narendra Modi had a telephonic conversation with the President of Afghanistan Hamid Karzai regarding the terror attack on India’s Consulate in Herat, Afghanistan.
During the talk, President Karzai assured Shri Modi that Afghanistan would do everything to protect Indian Missions in Afghanistan. Shri Modi also thanked President Karzai for the efforts of the Indian and Afghanistan forces in thwarting the attack on the Indian Consulate.
The terrorists, who attacked The Indian Consulate in Herat province of Afghanistan, in the early hours of Friday, were well-trained suicide bombers. The Indian security personnel and the Afghanistan forces fought jointly during the attack, killing all four terrorists.
