Impressed by the Trade Centre, the CM congratulated the SGCCI for making the centre a reality. He also said that the centre was the only one of its kind in the state. He also asked representatives of Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industry to take a cue from the project.

Surat district government pleader Nayan Sukhadwala, who was part of the prosecution team in the sensational gangrape case, donated his entire case fee of Rs1,11,111 to the CM's Kanya Kelavani Nidhi.
